Yume — Restaurant in Scranton

Boy! I am soooooo happy the ramen place we were going to dine at last night was closed! ( We love that spot too but totally different) Okay so my boyfriend agreed that the rainy drizzling day called for Japanese soup and Yume served us that and oh, so much yummies more. First off , the spot is to me super cool...right next to a mini nursery of sorts ..Yes , I planted(pun intended) groundwork for future plant buying. Muwahahahha. Second, the atmosphere is calming modern. Perfect for soup and sushi delights. We ordered quite a bit. I had miso soup and what I was craving . Shrimp dumplings. The dipping sauce was heavenly and they were the tastiest morsels. Miso was piping and perfect. I ordered some hot sake ..it was super sized next time I'll request a half order. Side note. My boyfriend and I agreed the soy sauce dispenser was the coolest one either of us had seen. Okay so into more nibbles. He order the (laymen's term) squid salad and it was amazing. By the way apologies we gobbled so fast I failed to take pictures of the chefs beautiful platings. I had sweet eel( mmmmmm) and a salmon crawfish roll that was divine along with another salmon( I sadly am allergic to tuna which breaks my spicy tuna loving heart) my spicy salmon handroll alas was too mayo no spice but the salmon itself was so good I unrolled and grabbed it on outta there and gobbled it up. Boyfriend had surf clam (he loved) and ,sweet eel in roll form. I prefer sushi style two big fat pieces.fuke sushi and squid sushi and crab stick roll.. in any case everything we ordered. Including his cup of coffee was sublime. Service was great, she was knowledgeable and polite and I had fun due to being able to watch the sushi chef from our table. Fascinating. Worth every penny and a repeat visit will happen soon . I loved of all things, the restroom.....cool sink. The toilet made me think for a moment of a Tokyo bar. Oh and I adore a spot that not only does not question my service animal but also ignores her. Refreshingly perfect Thank you...

I placed a take out order. It came out to $60 and some change. So i took off the soup and one roll. New total was 43 and some change. It was a $4 soup and a $8 roll i took off. Then i asked for the reciept thinking about it while i was waiting for the order to be ready. She told me i can see the reciept after my food was ready. I told her the total doesnt seem right and i would like to see the reciept now. There was another person there waiting behind me to pay for theur $120 take out order. So when I explained the issue outloud she asked me to let the other person pay first. Then she acted shadey and stalled getting me the reciept after she was done with that person. Once she gets the reciept to me she tells me im ordering off an outdated menu. I go and grab the menu i ordered from, from the stack on the table when you walk in and she immediately told me those menus are outdated. There is no sign and she claimed she didnt know I was ordering off of that. I asked her how did she not know when i was pointing at the menu while i was placing my order based off I the prices. She told me again it was outdated and i told her again theres a huge stack of these menus right there so she kept telling me those are the wrong menus and couldnt explain why they are still at the door. She would not honor the prices of what they had over 50 menus at the front door said so i took a refund instead. Watch out what you are paying for here. I saw this place had great reviews and was excited to give it a try but not now. I would have paid the price however supporting dishonesty is not something...

Terrible service. We waited over 30 minutes just for soup. When our food came, my order was wrong. They waited until my family was almost done eating to even ask what the problem was. When I told them what the problem was they refused to correct it and said it was my fault. I had to pay for the whole meal as well, they wouldn’t take it off the menu and didn’t offer a replacement meal. So I had to watch my family eat dinner without me. The restaurant was also empty, maybe 3 or 4 small tables. They were very attentive to the other tables. We were the only Hispanics in the restaurant. There was a table that got there 30 minutes after us got all their food before we even got our soup. Overall terrible service. Wouldn’t recommend anyone there. Only put one star because it won’t let...
