Really beautiful and iconic spot on the Oregon Coast! It's not only one of the places I like to go for my own leisure time and some beach walking, but it's also one of the places I've frequented most for photographing intimate weddings and elopements on the coast.
This is such a good location, because it's close enough to town that it makes it easy to access food, lodging, etc. It's beautiful any time of day and any season, but definitely best at low tide (so you can actually get around the point to where the waterfall is) and sunset is gorgeous here.
I've photographed a lot of weddings and elopements here, in all sorts of weather and different seasons, and the spot is just always stunning. I highly recommend spring or early summer if you want the best chance of seeing the waterfall flowing (it's seasonal).
I will say, the parking lot is large but fills FAST, so arriving early or targeting a weekday will help. If there's no parking spots available, please don't park on the road; it's super dangerous! There are other really beautiful beaches nearby that you can try, too.
Love this place, and I'm sure I'll be coming back many more times...
Read moreSuch a wonderful little beach that packs a punch! I went right when the sun was setting and captured some amazing pictures. One of the main reasons I went too because I saw the pictures of the waterfall that’s one this one but could not access it or see it from the top of the ridge. I tried taking the trails at the top because they said there was some that would lead over there but it’s just dense forest that you cannot get through unfortunately. I even tried parking further up the road near the waterfall point but there was no trail leading to it at all that I could find. So what I found out if your trying to make it to the waterfall i think you need to go here at low tide and and take the shoreline over to the other beach to access it, it looks so amazing! When I went the coast water was too far up and there would have been no safe way. Regardless I was still happy with the beach here and the little cliffs, rocks, and the views from the top of the little cliffs. Was a cool seagull giving me some cool pictures while there too, definitely stop if your in the area and come at low tide time to see...
Read moreTide pools were not really a thing here at all. Came here looking for tide pools. Didn't see much of anything. There are rocks out in the water covered in anenomes and mussles etc, but they are all closed up when you can get to those rocks at low tide.
Very cool caves and waterfall, though. Cool to look at the cliffs.
Steep stairs to get down to the beach and waterfall, but at least there were stairs.
Bathroom Review (also posted on the maps spot for the bathroom, but maybe not everyone sees that. NO SINKS OR SANITIZER. About what I expected. 2 normal American-style metal stalls with doors in the women's with flush toilets. One stall (I'd assume also with a flush toilet) and a urinal in the men's. A big open top garbage can in each. No gender neutral restrooms. No sinks, no running water, no hand sanitizer. Just the empty hook up for a sink and an in-wall soap pump for what probably used to be a sink. Much much better than nothing, better than portapotty or open hole outhouses. Wish there was at least...
