Hidden Gem! This is one of the most underrated spots in the Cannon beach area. We learned about this spot from a local who runs a shop in town. I wish I knew her name (or the name of her shop) so I could give her a shoutout.
You have to walk down a pretty short beach path to get here and, once you do, you are rewarded with some amazing scenery and natural forms. There is a little waterfall and, at low tide, you can explore some of the caves and crevices down on the beach.
There were even MORE starfish and sea anemones here than at Haystack rock a mile down the beach. An added bonus was that there were very few people on this beach. It was mostly joggers and people walking their dogs.
Definitely make the drive to this spot. There is a nice parking lot and it would be a great place to have a picnic or a fire at night. DO not miss out...

The highlight was the beautiful waterfall that flows right into the ocean, creating a scenic and unique backdrop. For our little rock hunters, there were countless agates scattered along the shore, making it a dream spot for finding colorful stones and shells. Hug Point is well worth the stop if you're in the area—it's a beach experience...
Read moreThis is a beautiful place to visit! Very interesting caves and historical passage. If you want to carve your name into the rocks, paint, or change its natural beauty, please dont go. Parking lot was about full, but people come and go often. Sandals are fine to wear on the way down. I was told there is a hike, but thats not so. Its very close to the parking lot, down to the beach, and to the right. The path ends in a broken, slighly slippery area where steps were washed away, so be careful here. Im disabled and did fine holding onto the backside of the railing. Bathrooms are on site in the parking areas. Beautiful creek creating the falls was beautiful...
