Where do I begin; the school is definitely different from most universities! The vibe is mellow and social interaction is almost non-existent. There is no school spirit to be found except for students wearing CSUMB sweatshirts. Everything is so spaced out and each department is its own little world. The only exciting place on campus is probably the student center where they have music and a Starbucks. The school is in transition but currently is not the type of campus students look forward to hanging out at. Their food sucks and it is way too expensive! The number of students in a class is usually very small and by the end of the semester, nearly half of students drop out. The enthusiasm from students at this school is horrible, and the teachers way too laid back and lenient, except for a few. If you are looking to major in the Performing Arts-this is not the school to come to for that. I recommend San Francisco State University or an east coast school. It feel like a Junior college with a bunch of high school kids! There is hardly no parking, the bus stops suck, and you are away from everything. Pretty much most of the students are from the Valley who have been sheltered their whole lives from the real world. Everyone is inside their own little bubble. The clubs on campus are a joke as is the educational expectations. The work is way too easy, The system has been very unorganized but they are working towards improving it. Students write announcements on the sidewalk with chalk and sometimes include offensive and insensitive language in an effort to spread awareness. The library is very nice, the Chapman center nice as well, and technology building is great! The school claims to be big on diversity but everyone pretty much is the same. I don't see any individuality, uniqueness, or someone standing out in a creative and and passionate way. Most students act like they do not want to be there but they have to. Where is the drive?! Plus-there is no football team!!! The school does have a lot of potential to be better but I think it is going to take some time and real effort on the students part to...
Read moreWatch out for the parking lot Nazi's ... what a joke, came to the school on a weekend to see our granddaughter play in a sports tournament and almost all of us (95%) not knowing the campus just parked... well they made tons of money ticketing everyone. What a joke.... the athletic department could have at least told the visiting teams to make sure they know you have to pay for parking..... better yet they parking Nazi's could have let everyone slide for the day or get the word out you must pay... Guess your school needs funding and to do it extort others of...
