Discovery Park beach facing the Puget Sound with beautiful views and wide beach front of sand and rocks. Not so crowded on weekdays, fall and winter seasons. This is a popular beach and park feature with very limited parking (just 8 permitted spots).
Because parking space is limited and the beach is a long way downhill from the parking lots, it is recommended to plan ahead if you intend to picnic at the beach. Secure a permit at the Visitor Center but note that it doesn't guarantee a spot because some do park illegally.
