the park is beautiful and deserves 5 stars but the couple who work there are power mad and like to yell at people for little or no reason.
this morning I parked on the other side of the road and got my dogs out of the truck and was walking them on the paths, there were other folks there with their dogs as well. I needed some dog poop bags so went over to the bark park and grabbed a few. while I was there a guy drove over from the park in a little service vehicle and opened the gate and yelled at me that the park was closed. He then told me in a condescending manner that yes it is, can't you read the signs. I assured him I could read and he yelled he was going to have my truck towed and that he had my license plate number. I replied what ever and told him to go away and quit harassing me.
After he left I thought maybe I missed something on one of the signs about the park being closed so I read every sign and no where did it say the park was closed, except from dusk to dawn. This was around 6:30 AM maybe closer to 7 AM and way past dawn. Granted there is a sign on the gate that does say closed, but what is closed. It's obvious the gate is closed so no vehicles can go past it to park in the parking lot but the trails are open, the pathways are open.
This isn't the first time this individual has yelled at folks, he yelled at my wife and her sister that dogs were not allowed in the park. Both dogs were on leashes and under control.
the park is terrific but the troll is...
Read moreThis care taker is an absolute creep watch out! My family and I stopped at this park to eat lunch and let our kids play. The dog park was on the other side of the street from the play ground. NO ONE WAS THERE! We didn't even get all the way out of our cars before this old white haired man drove over to us and started harassing me about my 2 puppies. We where trying to let the kids play and still throw the ball for my pups out in the empty field.... mind you I had leashes... my own dog bags. This guy parked and sat just a few car lengths from us and watched us and our kids for absolutely NO REASON! Not only did we not even feel welcomed there.... there was ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR THIS BEHAVIOR! IF YOUR NOT GOING TO ALLOW FAMILIES TO ENJOY THE PARK YOU HAVE NO BUISNESS BEING THERE! How horrible of an experience and to top it off I was born and raised here and NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER BEEN TREATED LIKE THIS ESPECIALLY AT A FAMILY PARK! SHAME ON YOU! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE WITH CHILDREN TO VISIT HERE. ITS A VERY NICE PARK BUT UNLESS YOU LIKE AN OLD MAN WATCHING YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN LIKE A CREEP THEN THIS IS NOT THE PARK FOR YOU! SO SAD! NEVER BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED. ILL ALSO BE SHARING THIS ON ALL THE COMMUNITY PAGES SO ALL OTHER WOMEN AND CHILDREN CAN FEEL SAFE! IF THE CITY HAS A CARE IN THE WORLD ABOUT THEIR COMMUNITY THEY SHOULD TRULY FIX THIS! PLEASE READ OTHER COMMENTS ABOUT...
Read moreI've been to Riverfront park many times in the past. Most times it was just too enjoy a sunny day for a few hours away from home. After several visits on my own and with a friend who has dogs I've learned 5hat the park has a fenced, off leash, dog area. You still have to scoop your dogs poop (bags provided) but your dog will have loads of room to run without you having to run along side them because they gave to be on a leash. The dog area has a covered picnic table, so if the weather isn't agreeable, i.e. raining, you have a place to be out of the rain. The park also has a full hookup RV park. It has limited spaces (I believe it's 12, but don't take my word for it and feel free to correct me if my information is wrong). But it's a nice little park, it's clean and it's quiet. Overall it's a great park, there are also sports fields for those who like to be more active than their dog! And lots of open space with no obstructions. And I almost forgot, there is also a place sounds for the kids! Do the park really does cater to everyone. Yes, there are outhouses (not...
