Asta Gallery & Suites — Attraction in Seldovia

Poor business practices. Don’t shop here. Female owner overcharges for state tax and doesn’t provide any receipt. After my husband paid 4 dollars tax on a 30 dollar cash purchase, I walked back in the store and asked what the sales tax for Seldovia was. It’s 9.5 %. I told her what we paid and she said I only go by what my register tells me. OMG. She said what do you want me to do in an aggressively and rude manner. I said refund the difference and provide me with a receipt. She did and the receipt has no date or time on it. I highly doubt she is able to pay correct state taxes on her sales without receipts and overcharging pocketing the difference of the actual correct rate. The previous customer didn’t receive a receipt either and paid with a credit card. The purchase doesn’t say where the earrings were made implying they are made...

We stayed in the suite offered here and it was nothing short of amazing. The view is incredible, and the massive deck with comfy seating makes it a pleasure to watch the boats come in and out of the harbor and the sea otters play. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay here comfortable! They have luxurious robes and towels (and plenty of towels), extra blankets and pillows, many different ways to make your preferred cup of coffee, and the apartment was very clean! The owner was so kind and helpful during our stay and went the extra mile and dried some things when it rained and they got wet. The shop is cute and has lots of fun things inside! Definitely worth staying here or just checking out the store! If we return to Seldovia we will definitely be...

Sandy’s shop and suite are amazing! The suite has spectacular view last as it’s right in the harbor with a large deck and is very romantic for couples. You can cozy up with your coffee as your snuggle in a fuzzy rope she provides and watch the morning bustle on the dock. Her store has everything from local art to gifts that allow you to bring your Alaska adventure back to your home. My favorite is the jewelry she carries! These amazing fish bone earrings are the perfect addition to my filleting outfit to keep me feeling fabulous even when I’m arms deep...
