While visiting our friends who live in Sequim, my husband and I had some free time while they worked for a while. We hit up some beautiful lavendar farms and met some lovely people! What a beautiful little town Sequim is! My day was going great! That is until my very unfortunate experience at Purple Haze Lavendar Farm..... Our time out was coming to an end, but before we went back to our friends house, I wanted to pick her up a thank you gift for hosting my husband and myself. As we drove onto the property, we saw a car pulling out of a parking spot so we parked our car in the same spot. My husband stayed in the car so I could run in quickly to get a gift. As I approached the front of the gift shop, there was a nice young girl off to the left who called me over and said it cost $5 to visit the farm. I told her I wasn't going to pay because I knew I only intended on going in the gift shop. She didn't say a thing as I walked up the stairs and into the gift shop, never intending to walk through the farm. I was inside about 5 to 10 minutes looking around when I felt a firm tap on my shoulder coming from behind me. As I turned around, an older gray haired lady very loudly, ubruptly and rudely told me that it cost $5 to visit the farm and because I didn't pay, I had to leave. I explained that I had only planned to be in the gift shop to make a purchase and that I didn't intend to walk through the farm. She said that it didn't matter because the gift shop was part of the farm and that I needed to leave now as she was shewing me away with her hands like you would some stray animal. I said to her "So you mean you don't want my money from making a purchase in your gift shop?" I was quite confused. She said no that I needed to "Get out!" and that she didn't have time to "argue" with me about it. So I left feeling confused and disappointed by the rudeness. As I was walking to my car she screamed at me that I had parked illegal. I got in the car and told my husband what had just happened. We sat there for a brief moment in shock! Thank you lady for taking what was a lovely day and leaving a nasty taste in our mouth about Sequim! Thinking back on the situation, you could have handled things in many different Kind and polite ways and shown a...
Read moreCame here on one sunny day! Purple as far as you can see! I came on a bright sunny day. I picked this locations as it was raved as one of the biggest lavender farms in the area. We only had time to go to only one farm so we chose this one and it was amazing. The gift shop has lavender everything! Soaps, salad dressing, mustard, shampoo, chocolate they even have a twistie i which you can buy for 5 dollars and pick your own lavender! In addition to lavender, they have garden areas, herb gardens. Albeit small, they make up for it with cuteness!
They also have Lavender Ice cream! There are about 3 to 4 different flavors but honestly that's all they need! They have white chocolate lavender, Lavender lemon, gourmet chocolate and peppermint lavender. I'd recommend going with two scoops and getting the lavender white chocolate and peppermint lavender! And don't drop them on your dress like my gf did.....on her pink dress....before her photo shoot This is a amazing place to go for pictures and to see something different! I'd recommend coming here because it's a different and...
Read moreWe visited the lavender farm on July 17th. I read about the lavender festival on their website and was expecting a lavender bloomed garden but very few rows bloomed.
The farm was beautiful but wish they mentioned the right time to visit the farm on the website (with a beautiful sight of bloomed lavender)
My kids enjoyed the face painting station. Though it was extra money. the Person in charge did a great job. I would give 5 star for her.
We got lavender white chocolate ice cream. It was more white chocolate I could hardly taste lavender. The staff at the ice cream stand was friendly.
We went to a gift shop. I saw a board with 3 magnets. I liked one particular and asked the person in charge if they have 2. The person in billing said the ones on the board are all they have. My husband noticed two trays full of magnets on the counter. I asked if I can check that, and she said yes and I was able to find the magnet I was looking for. She need not look the magnet for me but at least could have told to me check in that tray.
Not sure if she was new or rude to care about...
