I'm going to give Sequim Bay State Park 5 stars because that's all I can give it. In my opinion, it deserves more. My wife and I have pretty much spent time in most of Western Washington's state parks and this park has moved to the top of our favorite state parks. It's tied with Fort Flagler, Fort Worden, Cape Disappointment, Deception Pass and Ike Kinswa. Ok that's a lot of state parks, but it's hard to say it's in our top 10 when they're all equal. Oh and did I forget to mention Bayview? Anyhow, Sequim Bay has 15 full hookup sites. They are side by side and relatively close and some will say to close to highway 101 but once your in your trailer and tucked in for the night, you really don't notice. It has two primitive loops an upper and lower and if your into dry/primitive camping then try to get the lower half of the lower loop because each site has beautiful views of Sequim Bay. Site 80 being the best of the best. But irregardless of which site you get in either the full hookup or primitive sites your just a short walking distance the beautiful bay. One side of the park has a fishing dock and a boat launch. Cross over the beautiful steel bridge on the Olympic Discovery Trail and stay left and it will take you down to yet another dock. This was my wife's and my favorite spot. It has a dock but at the end of the dock is a picnic table that fully can sit at and its lounge being on your own little island out on the water. From there you can watch the harbor seals swimming in the bay. Into walking, biking or both? The Olympic Discovery Trail runs right through the middle of the park. So if quiet beautiful serenity is what your in need of, this is the place to go. Have a little gamblers itch? 7 Cedars Casino is a short distance from the park. Sequim is a beautiful city. It literally has everything and every store you need. What I like about it is the fact the bix box stores are in one area and the smaller mom an pop family owned businesses are in another. I highly recommend going during the Lavendar Fest if possible. All in all Squim Bay State Park has it all. Great location, clean restrooms, and absolute beauty and breathtaking views of the bay and the mountains. We'll definitely be coming to this park for years to come and once you stay there, I believe you'll feel the...
Read moreIt was a really cool place to camp because all of the campsites were managed perfectly except for there being no trash cans and only recycling bins to throw your trash. The beach is an amazing veiw and if you walk all the way around over the logs and everything you end out in a big open space where there are lots of trees and low hangouts under the trees in the waterfalls and in the sand. I don't suggest walking barefoot on the beach though because you get pretty easily cut up from all the broken shells on the beach. When i went there it was actually my second time and we had planned to go on a biking trip which was really cool besides all of the rain but if you stay on the biking trail it actually leads you all the way into the city of sequim where you go around a soccer field and then over into the actual town and then you go farther into a big open dry grass field that you cruise through. The ride is awesome but if you do go biking in the rain and you get to the point where there's a bridge that extends far over a stream be careful coming up because on the turn i ended out getting my legs crushed by my bike because i tried turning and the bridge wood was too slick so the front wheel lost balance and slid out from undef me causing me to slam against the ground leaving me with a pretty bad bruise all downmy ankle. This really is a great camp if you have the right things for camping and you make time for...
Read moreIt is hard to give a single rating based on staying at only a single camp site regardless of staying for 4 days. I'm going to provide more details below with further ratings. Camp Amenities - 5 stars. The boat launch was in great condition and along with the ramp there is a mooring dock available for use as well. My son and I walked several miles along the Olympic Discovery Trail (paved) that runs right between some of the camping site loops. (There was a good deal of bicycle traffic in it in the early morning though.) The unoccupied sites were all raked and clean when we arrived. All the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The single (pay per use) shower stall is large and has a bench to place your stuff while you shower. There are garbage cans reserved for crab disposable, glass, aluminum cans, and trash. My site #47 - 2 stars. It was one of the only available during the time I reserved it. Our site was right on the inside of the bend of the loop and every vehicle coming through there loop passed by three sides of the site. The site was on a slant that would make sleeping uncomfortable except in one position. The flattest area was the parking spot. I will NOT select this site again, although I will come back to camp and utilize the...
