Maywood park is an excellent resource that Sheboygan County is very lucky to have. Growing up, I attended the various camps and preschool events, went on field trips there throughout my schooling years, and went for family hikes and volunteered there up until I left for college 3 years ago and my family since moved away from the area. I have nothing but fond memories of discovering the outdoors, getting lost (sometimes literally) in nature- I even took some of my first steps on the wooden structure near the visitor's center! Read moreThis is my happy place, my quiet place and my stress relief from lifes challenges. Whenever I walk through this beautiful place it just seems to bring me back to a peace of mind. It has ponds, a river, tall grass, beautiful woods, and flowers that go on forever with paths that circle the whole place. There is suitable parking but bathroom facilities are not always suitable during all hours of park operation. A very nice feature is the prohibition against dogs at the park, even if on a leash. People like their dogs, and we liked ours, but other people do not want their private space invaded by other people's mutts. The peace and serenity at the park is greatly enhanced by the absence of dogs. Wildlife also appreciate the absence of canines roaming their home...
