Quiet restful little park that I myself found by accident after turning onto Kellogg rd and traveling down a dirt road surrounded by corn fields and hay rolls back in 1988. Back then we carved are names inside the bridge like thousands had before us and would return again and again when we were in the area. It had been many years since I was back and went to share it with a friend on Memorial Day 2022 and found the old bridge restored and my "secret" entrance turned into UFO Park! I love it. Something had drawn me there years before and to find out about the site now was a thrill!

Kind of interesting to see. Not much there but some benches, solar lights and a picnic table. But it was cool to read about it and see a plaque from the governor and benches purchased by famous people and shows. Benches are right next to Housatonic River which is nice in one aspect but also very smelly and dirty. The covered bridge was nice to walk through and I was amused by the graffiti painted rocks. Would be a nice place to just sit at during a decent Spring or Summer day.

A very interesting visit with a lot more history than what you'd initially expect. A very big thank you to Thom for directing me to the correct entrance over the phone when google led me to the wrong road. He maintains the grounds himself and was very knowledgeable and kind. A memorable stop on my road trip.

I saw a sign for the covered bridge and drove down the dirt road to check it out. The bridge is a beautiful reconstruction and it was the first covered bridge in Massachusetts. There is signage explaining this. You can cross the bridge which is now closed to vehicles. You come to a sign which explains the UFO encounter that happened there in 1969. There are benches to sit on and you can watch the river flow by and a picnic table at the end. There is a long road to walk on and you can view fields and the river. It is a very peaceful place. Many go there to...

A Beautiful and Fascinating Place to Visit! After reading about the UFO incident in the Boston Globe, we visited the UFO site and read more about the incident. The actual location is on the EAST side of the river, just across the covered bridge. Coordinates: N42.123999, W73.354500 There's some controversy about the governor's issuance of an official citation as well as the location of the marker. In any case, this is a beautiful spot, perfect for a visit, walk, or picnic. It's also one of the best-known canoe/kayak access points for the...
