I would never recommend this venue to anyone who has a soul. A wedding is supposed to be one of the most wonderful days of your life. That’s the reason why so many people are willing to pay so much money for these days; because it is a day you’ll never forget. Another day never to be forgotten? March 14th, 2020; the day COVID in the U.S. became the most serious part of all of our lives. Over the past year, people around the globe have faced hardship, financial trouble, and major life changes due to this pandemic. In return, companies and people have offered compassion, and understanding that in this difficult time, adjustments need to be made. However, the compassion for one of the most beautiful days of someone’s life are lost on the soulless, money grabbing hearts at Cherry Creek. When COVID delayed a friends wedding, they were more than happy to celebrate their special day with close friends and family, delaying their multi-thousand dollar wedding at Cherry Creek (very specifically, because this venue could not keep the promises kept due to restrictions). This is understandable, and changes need to be made. What is not understandable is a year later, when those promises are not able to be kept, offering your guests to either reduce the wedding they paid thousands for, or to cancel and receive no refund. We’re in the middle of a pandemic, with the last year being so difficult for all. However for Cherry Creek, the selfishness and lack of care shows just how little they care about their guests. A businesses job is to make money, but also to provide for the clients they pretend to care about. Cherry Creek is a venue with no care for the people that pay for their services, and therefore I would not recommend them to anyone at all for any sort of special event.
Update, 10/9/23: I just realized the venue commented back; and with a concerning display of professionalism questioned my review. This should go to show potential clients that there was not one event they ruined that year, but so many, they cannot even recall the situation. For the record - my friends did talk to Mr. Erle, and his staff, several times in 2020 & 2021. When this venue could not adhere to the contract standards, they begged for a refund. They were told they would not get a refund. The only option was to reduce capacity, but the venue would make no exceptions on a reduced price (for the aforementioned 2/3 reduction on capacity). $30k, that they have not seen a dime of, and have had no event held or planned up through today, in 2023. I would assume based on this venues response, that there were more than a few weddings they ruined in this way. Mr. Erle, you have my word that when my friends receive the $30k you stole from them back, I will delete my review. It is up to you to figure out which client of the, it would seem many, that you owe this...
Read moreHad a shower there. The manager taking care of us was rude and not accommodating. Buffet ...they don't refill when it's almost empty. We had to tell them. Another server was very rude. Outside of the manager and the server. the other servers were very nice. Microphone didn't work and apparently in the past others who have been there said the mic didn't work either. The 2 omelet stations that we paid for the 2 chefs want to be at 1 station. So without asking us they moved into 1 station. We all stood in line cramped and with covid it made no sense. They left the other omelet station just sitting there with a messy tablecloth on top. I asked what's going on the manager said the chefs like to work at same station so I told her then why is the other station still there it was an eye sore told her to move out of there and in a rage she started pulling the tablecloth etc... can't remember her name but will add once I find out her name so that if you have a party there make sure she isn't the Mgr. Venue and the grounds are beautiful. Update: I never mentioned pennas or to go boxes. Why is pennas being mentioned??? Omelet station had 2 lines so it made it crowded because now we are side to side instead of being behind each other. Ck your cctv again. The microphone never worked we moved to the middle of the room so that guests can hear us. A waiter setting an entire table accidentally spilled water and another waitress said don't take off the tablecloth just throw a napkin on top. Who does that....its going to get wet. We helped him move everything and we put a new tablecloth on. The waitress was mad so she goes to the bar and starts complaining about us. Again the sausage had a few left so for them to replenish is not asking for them to replenish half it was 2. The eggs were completely done so to ask to replenish isn't a lot to ask for. I'm frustrated because the reply was rude and would've had parties there in the future it was the manager that was rude, aggressive, and not accommodating that ruined our time. We still enjoyed our party but would've loved better customer service. Bartender and all the other wait staff was wonderful. I never complained about cherry creek overall just the manager that was there who didn't make us feel welcomed or accommodating. Instead you responded negatively and...
Read moreDo you like slow 5 1/2 golf rounds? Do you like rude staff? Do you like being lectured to by management? If so, Cherry Creek is the golf course for you! I’ve been playing this course 3-4 times a year (sometimes more) since its opening in 1995, and I do not like writing bad reviews, so I gave myself ample time to decide if I wanted to write this one. Unfortunately, I must. When I first started playing Cherry Creek, the rounds were about 4 1/2 hours and the staff was friendly. In years since, there has been a slow decline. The last few years the service has declined significantly and now you can expect a 5 ½ hour round at best. My last round there broke my resilience to the declining service and slow rounds. I requested a cart (pre-paid for, by the way, along with golf), and told they were not giving them out because of a frost delay and the fact that they did not want people jumping onto the course early because they only have one starter. Isn’t the starter there to prevent that? Anyway, when I did finally get a cart, it came along with a rude remark from the staff. Then, after the round was completed, I attempted to enter the clubhouse by covering my nose and mouth with what I was told was an improper face covering even though I have been fully vaccinated from Covid 19 and that I could not enter. In fact, I had entered the clubhouse earlier at the turn without issue using the same face covering. I left without argument, applied 4 face coverings, and entered again. I was greeted with another rude remark from staff. When I complained to management about the rudeness of the staff, I was given a lecture on Michigan’s face mask mandates. No apologies that the staff was rude but told that the whole incident was my fault for attempting to enter without a proper face covering in the first place. That disappointment me more I than the rude behavior from the staff. I will seriously have to consider if this course ever gets my business again. Perhaps I will return after enough time passes for a change over in staff, and if I happen to hear they’ve increased the pace of play. Let’s face it, there are lots of other courses in the Metro Detroit area where you can get fast rounds, excellent treatment from the staff, and feel like your business is...
