UPDATE: I'm changing my review from one to three stars because I got a phone call from the store and was asked to explain the situation. Afterwards I received an apology which I appreciated. It also seems like the issue should be fixed going forward. I was not asked to change or delete my review.
I went in to pick up a suppressor I ordered from Silencer Shop. For those who don't know, Silencer Shop is super convenient because they allow you to pick up from any of their dealers without paying a transfer fee. BPS Outfitters is a Silencer Shop dealer and I chose them as my pick-up location when I placed my order through Silencer Shop.
However, the employee who was assisting me, Brandon, tried to charge me a $100 transfer fee. I reminded him that I purchased through Silencer Shop. He tried to tell me there was still a fee. I asked him if he was sure. He said "1,000% percent". We went back and forth a few times and I finally asked to see his manager. The manager came out and told me that I didn't need to pay the fee. But I didn't get any apology from either of them.
Obviously, I am upset that they tried to charge me $100, whether out of malice or incompetence, but my greater concern is that Brandon said he was 1,000% sure he was right. It makes me wonder: how many people have they tried to charge $100 to transfer from Silencer Shop, and how many of those people didn’t know any better and paid the $100?
It's a shame because, up to that point, I was having a good experience and was impressed with the store. Brandon initially seemed like a nice guy, too. But to me, this is inexcusable. I left immediately afterward, even though I had other items I was interested in purchasing. From now on, I will take my...
Read moreI Went to BPS Outfiters looking to sell a 9.5 Russian made semi automatic pistol in the original box and had never been fired I Had no idea what this pistol was worth because I am not a gun person. I needed money fast so the young man told me the pistol was worth $275.00 so I though that was a little cheap and asked him if that was the best he could do he said yes because it would be hard to sale because no one wanted a 9.5mm. Pistol so I went ahead and took his offer The next day I took pictures and the serial number to Cabellas the Manager told me to bring it in because it was an extremely rare and valuable Pistol and he had never seen one in the original box and if it truly was never fired he priced it at between $7,500 and $9,000.I got online and did a search and could not find one in any condition for sale. The Manager at Cabellas told me he had not seen one for sale in about 12 years. I called BPS Outerfitters the next day after the sale and was told the Pistol had already been sold and he would not tell me what it sold for. If you have a Pistol for sale be sure and do plenty of homework before you take it to BPS because the Manager will take advantage of You. I am 78 and know this place has to make money but to buy a pistol for that kind of money knowing what the true value of it was is just like stealing it but I am a grown Man so I'm not going to cry over it like a little girl. I just wanted to let the public know how BPS runs there business so that anyone else selling anything to them to do there homework because they will cheat you if they get the chance. You can bet on Judgment Day comes there is a hot place reserved for the Manager of...
