Our personal experience there was horrible. The water would shut off SO many times with NO notice EVER. The stepping stones were not placed correctly and they were very dangerous to walk on because several of them were so loose. It was literally a walking hazard. They would never do anything about the mold in the hallway closet. They would always just "band aid" the bath tub faucet in the guest bath that kept breaking off - it NEVER got fixed properly. There was always a bad infestation of gnats and for several months we thought we were getting bit by all the gnats. We discovered that there was water building up in the dishwasher which we NEVER used!! (I am old fashioned when it comes to washing dishes and I ALWAYS washed all of our dishes by hand, so we NEVER used that dishwasher). We reported the gross, dirty water build-up that was inside the dishwasher, that again, we NEVER used, and they NEVER fixed it!! We finally figured out that that old water build-up in the dishwasher was what was attracting all of those gnats. I finally went to the dermatologist because the bites were so bad, and he said it was bed bugs. We had already seen mattresses from time to time in their trash bins, but never thought for a second that it could have been bed bugs. I IMMEDIATELY went straight to Brandy, one of the managers there, and showed her my arm. She said that they had never had a bug problem before, but because of all the mattresses my husband and I kept seeing in their trash bins, I have a hard time believing that. Why is it always just assumed that it is the TENANT that brings in the bugs when there are bed bugs. That was certainly NOT the case in OUR particular case. We were not in a lease contract, so we did not break our lease agreement, however they do have a 60 day notice policy before moving out. We did not even know 60 days before we moved that we were dealing with bed bugs. So the day I found out that it was bed bugs biting us, there was NO WAY we were going to stick around for another 60 days. We ALWAYS paid our rent on time and have never been evicted or had ANY problems with any other apartment complex we had ever lived in. Raintree was a nightmare, and I'm still not even giving half of our story on all of the physical, mental, and emotional stress we went through. When we moved out and moved into some other apartments here in the same town, Sherman, TX, we NEVER EVER saw not ONE bite or bug!! That right there should be enough proof that it was NOT us who brought the bugs in. I am 100% convinced that those bugs were already there, although Raintree will argue otherwise. Needless to say, it was very worth it to us to leave when we did. There is no way I would ever recommend...
Read moreWorst apartments ever!!!! The girls in the front office are really sweet and try to do what they can. We rented an apartment a month before we moved into it due to renovations that needed to be done. When we got there, I was just happy to be going from a third floor apartment to a first floor, in tornado alley. It wasn't until we got settled that I really started to see all the flaws. There had been an oven fire in our apartment because you could still see the burn marks on the wall behind the oven and on the cabinets above. There was a water leak behind the dishwasher. The dishwasher broke and they had to replace it. When they pulled it out, mold was all over the walls. They sprayed something to cover it but it all really just needed to be gutted and redone. The oven had been painted over to make it "look" like it was new but the first time water boiled over the paint came off and to my surprise it was nasty. The toilet in the master bathroom had to be replaced and the maintenance man ended up dragging it across the carpet to the front door. Then the other toilet leaked all over the floor in the bathroom and the maintenance man, instead of ripping up the old floor that had water damage, he just put the stick on tiles down on top of the old. The manager was kind and did have the carpet cleaner come and clean the carpets but still. Then the people that lived above us had a flea infestation. Those fleas came into our apartment. Mind you we did not have a pet. The bug guy that came to spray was so rude and unprofessional. Not to mention the first time I asked for them to spray our apartment, I waited for the bug guy who never showed up. Then I was told by the girls in the front office he had come to my apartment and it was dead bolted. I was sitting in my car with my kids waiting. It was very unprofessional. Then when I asked the bug guy to spray the grass outside our apartment, cause when we would walk thru the grass my kids would have fleas jump on them, he said that the apartments do not pay him to spray the grass. I have so many complaints, but i would just warn you. If you want cheap rent, then this is the place for you, but these apartments need to...
Read moreI lived here from 2016-2017. The manager I had no longer works at the facility. During this time, I got bed bugs in my bedroom from the people upstairs. They never took out their trash, and piled it on the balcony. I assume the bugs crawled down the walls and through the electrical outlets. I told the lady at the office (who no longer works here) about the problem. She did nothing about it. I went to Lowe's myself and purchased powder and bed bug mattress covers. I got rid of the problem myself. The washer and dryer hookups did not work when I moved in. A friend of mine suggested that I move into a brand new apartment being built. I gave them a month's notice. When I went to turn in my key the same woman from the office refused to accept the fact that I was moving. She said that they were going to continue to bill me for the last 2 months of my lease. I went outside to check my mail for the last time and dropped the keys in the mail slot. I have no idea who works at the office now because several years have passed. I hope these apartments have changed.
I still have photos to prove the bed bug problem and the broken washer and dryer hookups. But, like I said this happened from 2016 to 2017. Hopefully, this apartment has changed since then. The woman in the office no longer works at...
