My husband and I recently visited this farm as we wanted a nice relaxing autumn activity day. We love visiting local farms around this time of year and I found this farm when I Googled U-pick flowers and fruit. The visit was not relaxing and the overall experience was very disappointing. To start off parking was an absolute nightmare. There were no open spots and you couldn't park on the street because you would get a ticket. We had to park far down the road from the farm and walk. Then when we finally arrived at the farm there were no clear signs of where and how to pick flowers and fruit. We finally found a small stand and asked to pick some apples and flowers. We were told there was only one pair of scissors for the flowers and it was in use. A little frustrated we decided to walk to get some apples. Everything was thoroughly picked through and there wasn't much left to pick from so we decided to turn back and see if the scissors were ready. After waiting a bit longer we finally got a pair of scissors. We cut some poorly labeled flowers and went to check out. When we got to check out we discovered that the whole check out process is a mess. First you stand in one line just to get a ticket for your items and then you have to stand in another line to pay. Both lines were very long and it took awhile to fully check out. While we were waiting in line we overheard that an influencer made a TikTok video and that's why the farm was so crowded. In some cases I think influencers/content creators can help a small business but it this case I feel like it hurt the experience as a whole. This farm was not prepared for large crowds. From parking to check out it's just a chaotic mess. And I also agree with some of the previous reviews on pricing. Everything was just a little too expensive. Unfortunately I don't think my husband and I will be returning to this farm in the future. I hope that they can sort out better parking and check out process because all farms deserve to be visited...
Read moreDisappointed in this years visit. They advertised online the had 4 varieties of apples left to pick. So we made reservations and took the almost hour drive to the barn. Even on the reservations it says if availability changes they will let you know.
We arrive, we check in and mention we want to pick apples. They show us where on the map they are and send us back.
We then spent the next 40 minutes trying to find a single apple that we could pick. Half the trees were empty and the other half were filled with bad apples. Some covered in bugs, others with rotten parts or weird skin marks that looked like some kind of rot or disease. There were also tons of apples on the ground that have started to decay and are covered in flies.
3 of us searched up and down the rows and we couldn't find a single tree with good apples.
We were very disappointed and felt like it was a huge waste of our time and resources. Makes me think they aren't even aware of their own products. They should not be advertising they...
Read moreThey have Boysenberries! I'm a Southern California native where Boysenberries are the local creation like marionberries are to PNW. It's been very hard to find it up here and I was about to resort to ordering off Amazon until I stumbled on this adorable farm store. They had a great selection of a wide variety of things- their ice cream looked great.
Review after trying the syrup: Good God y'all - one of the things I miss most about So Cal is boysenberries. It was impossible to find in Maine, even tricky in Arizona, but moving to Portland I had nearly lost hope of being able to find a local source until we stumbled upon Smith Berry Farm and it's by far my favorite boysenberry product maker so far- even toping the nostalgia of Knott's Berry Farm boysenberry syrup (I'm fully aware of the special place in hell waiting for me just for suggesting that btw).
I'm forever ruined to all other boysenberry syrups. I can't ever move away from Portland now. Not very upset...
