The rules about UAV photography has a conflict between what's on paper and what the manager says? I think it might be a repeat of when they refused my wife's service animal a few years back! (That issue was resolved quickly with a apologie but this one?) The first thing the manager asked the clerk was my name they way this was done seemed like only people he knew would be allowed (I could be wrong? It was just a observation and the fact he stumbled on his reason/excuse for saying no!) I don't have a problem with rules or laws if they are properly enforced it's when someone with authority uses it in a abusefull way or picks and chooses what the public can or can't do based on Mood, Day, Origin, Race, Disability, or personal agenda! these parks belong to the people of PA! Our taxes pay for them! Yes I'm a bit upset about this especially after the service animal issue a few years ago!! I'm disabled and spent a lot of time! Money! Getting the UAV and the FAA certificate to fly so I can see places I can no longer access because of my physical limitations! The manger said only for promotional reasons would he allow it??? That requires a Part 107 FAA license the rules say the regular license is all that's needed? A part 107 is a commercial license (like a UAV CDL) for profit use EG: Movies, TV paid advertising? I guess I have to go high up again like when they refused to let the service animal in Leonard Harrison park?!?! We'll see what happens? The public should not have to work so hard to prove the laws and Regulations to staff in these places the employees job is to be literate on the rules and regulations! I did my part! Getting the proper certificates and pay the required fees and learned how to safely fly per current...

This is a free park so I can't be too upset with some of the changes they made. However the parking lot changes where they chop down all of the trees around the parking lot and change the layout of the parking lot and move all the parking a little bit further away from the park was in my honest opinion a poor decision. I don't know if there's new management there or what, but even the gift shop seems lesser and I'm not sure if there's even possible to get any kind of drinks or snacks up there. Every time I go I can't get anything to drink from like a booth. There used to be a wonderful food truck here that sold Maple related products and maple syrups, however the management here decided they did not want to renew the contract so that's not even an option anymore and to me that was kind of like one of the little highlights of this park. A couple years ago this park was absolutely amazing wonderful and perfect but now I feel like something else has changed, whether it be new management or a change in the times but this isn't what it used to be.

There are some great well-maintained trails here especially the turkey trail and the overlook trail is pretty good as well. I feel like they need to cut back some of the trees that are up near the viewing platform so you can see more of the...

We stayed a LHSP campground June 2021. It is a small, one loop campground that is very nice. Site 19 was pretty big, I think the nicest, with nice trees for hammocks and tarps if desired. It's on the corner so only really neighbors on one side. Sites all appear to be flat, most sites had 2 or more tents when we were there. #14 looked like the next best, then #1. There is no cell service, and weather updates are posted at the check in station (did not need to check in, post tags were brought to the site) but it was not changed while we were there from Friday - Sunday, and the woman inside did not seem to be pleased we stopped and asked her about the storm forecast. A ranger drove by a few times, bath house is nice, newer, and surprisingly bug free. One shower in each plus a family room with shower. Dish washing tubs are not great, stainless steel sinks with no counter area on the sides (probably the only negative of the campground). Hiking is right from campground, Turkey Path goes down to the rail trail to then go as long and far as you want. Beautiful PA Grand Canyon views a short walk from campground. We did not see any wildlife at all in camp, reportedly bald eagles at the Lookout. We drove 3.5 hours for a 2 nite stay. Definitely well...

This is the best park to view the PA grand canyon (Pine Creek Gorge) it gets 4 stars because it is a small park with very limited camping, limited trails, and limited activities however it is a great base camp from which to explore the area and its many parks. There are a couple short trails and a nice rail trail for biking along Pine Creek. I recommend a vehicle and trying to book around a new moon. The grand canyon is beautiful, but I am more mesmerized by the night sky. Cherry Hill State Park, one of the darkest places in the US, is only about 45 mins away and whether you have binoculars, a telescope, or just eyeballs, it's a dream as long as the clouds work out. Colton Point State Park is very close for another view of the gorge and some easy trails along the top of the gorge. There is a bar/lounge about 5 minutes away at The Grand Canyon Motel Resort and Lounge. You are also only about 15 minutes from the quaint town of Wellsboro. I went to CS Sports in the town and talked to the shop owner for 20 minutes about RVs. Go support him. His wife wants an RV, which I supported, but he needs financial peace of mind. There was a great maple goods vendor at the overlooks at Leonard Harrison, but alas, I think he is retiring after October 30th, 2022.
