During my recent vacation trip to Cherry Springs State Park for my astrophotography (@matt.costanza_astro on Instagram) I had the chance to check out the PA Grand Canyon. While it’s difficult to compare it to Arizona’s Grand Canyon or New York’s Letchworth State Park for that matter it’s unique in its own way. There are so many green trees and I love the blue sky with it! I really wanted to stay during sunset but I had other business to attend to...🌌💫 Fun Facts: Pine Creek Gorge, sometimes called The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, is a 47-mile (76 km) gorge carved into the Allegheny Plateau by Pine Creek in north-central Pennsylvania. Read moreBeautiful place! We just recently learned about the PA Grand Canyon and wanted to check it out. We went to the outlook. They have a nature center, small gift shop and bathrooms that were super clean. Looks like the center was recently built. The observation area has a few binoculars (we didn't use them). There is also a hiking trail you can access from there, the Turkey Path hiking trail. This trail has a few waterfalls. The top of the trail is kind of steep but is very well marked and has a few switchbacks which helps out alot. There are a few places to sit if needed as well as some observation decks. Once you get closer to the bottom there are wooden stairs. If you follow the trail all the way to the bottom it will end at the Pine Creek bike trail and you can access the Pine Creek from there. It was a nice hike, not too difficult but we went slow, took our time and...
