Worst lessons in the area. Complete highway robbery to pay for lessons at ski ward. We bought a package of 3 lessons and regret it and will never use them for lessons again.
For a one hour lesson with all novice level skiers, there were 7 kids put with a single instructor.
The kids went up the hill and patiently waited for his or her turn to go. From 4:15 to 4:50, I watched my son stand at the mountain doing absolutely nothing. And then finally shortly after 4:50 he had his one and only turn down the hill. At 5:17 when his lesson was over, he was still standing at the top of the mountain and I just walked up and grabbed him and luckily an open instructor offered to escort him down on his skis.
Throughout this entire lesson I was looking for an adult to speak to to see if there was something they could do so the kids in the group could actually have a chance to ski. And everyone was just teenagers and told me there was no one I could speak to on site.
Customer service responded to my email/voicemail and said that they would not refund me for the lesson package or for this awful “lesson” we attended. They kept saying the service was provided and I couldn’t get a refund. After the most painful conversation with someone who even admitted she wasn’t authorized to do much to rectify the situation she would only offer me a gift card for the remainder of the lesson package. So now I still need to spend this money at their business.
Save yourself the money and just go find a hill with snow and take them yourself! Or head to wachusett! it’ll be better quality and waste less of your time. Horrible lesson, horrible customer service, disappointing that this long-term establishment has lost all commitment to quality of service...
Read moreThis place was awesome at first. I used to come here almost every day with my friends but that has recently changed. I went here with one of my friends who was learning how to ski. I am an experienced snowboarder and I thought that we should go to the T bar which is a lift that takes you up the hill. My friend has never been on the T Bar but he really wanted to try it. We got on the lift and it started pulling us up. My friend could not control his skis so then the T Bar started pulling us into different directions. He tried so hard to keep going straight but the T Bar would not stop moving. Luckily we made it up the hill and we were safe. We were so happy that we were safe and we agreed that he might need a little more practice before we both go on the T Bar together again and that a snowboarder should not go with a skier on the T Bar. We were so thankful to be ok but out of NOWHERE A SKI PATROL GUY CAME AND STARTED YELLING AT US!! He was being very very rude and mean. We tried explaining what happened but he did not care at all!! He took my PARK PASS which is the only reason I go there and I did not even do anything wrong. He also started threatening me and telling me he will take away my season pass!!!! He took away my freinds lesson pass for no reason and he said he will give them back in 2 days!! We were so MAD so we went to our parents and told them!! They went to ski patrol and told them it was all accidental but they did not want to here it. Ski Patrol is VERY rude and I think that the tall guy that works there needs to be fired!! They even threatened us infront of our parents. We ended up getting our passes when we left but we are DEFINITELY coming back to...
Read moreI went today (2/23/25) with my son (beginner skier). This was the first time we have gone to Ward. Usually we go to Wachusett for a day trip. We spent the entire morning on the magic carpet. The lift attendant on the magic carpet was negligent and created a dangerous situation many times throughout our 3 hours there. This is a beginner area, with small children (mine is 4). The employee managing the lift was not standing at the unloading area where the emergency stop button is. He sitting in a hut, a good 10ft away. Ward didn't have anyone stationed at the bottom like most mountains (to both hit the stop button and rake the snow smooth). My son is pretty good getting on the carpet but, again, this lift is for beginners. One time the tip of a ski was hanging off the edge and got caught. He fell. I was about 3 feet behind him and am an experienced skier. But because nobody stopped the carpet when he fell, I couldn't scoop him up in time and fell myself as the carpet pushed me into him. A good 30 seconds passed between when we fell and when the attendee realized and stopped the carpet. I saw the same thing happen to numerous other families. This is absolutely unsafe. I appreciate Ward may not have the budget to staff the top and bottom of the carpet but, at a minimum, safe standards are to have an employee standing at the top, ready to stop the lift. I have been skiing for nearly 35 years and ski all over the East Coast. This is the only place I've seen such negligence.
If anyone asks if it's worth taking their kids there, I'll tell them they may as well drive the extra 30 minutes to Wachusett where they have staff who care about the safety of...
