I randomly found this park the other day when looking for hiking spots in the area. There's quite a few trails here for different levels of difficulty. There split off into different areas but I went towards the Bailey Canyon Trail and went towards the Canyon View Nature which was only like 0.5 miles one way and also walked through the small little Nature Trail on the way to Bailey Canyon sign which has a very suspicious bridge. You can also access Jones Peak from the same trail and if I read some of the signs correctly, there are also trails to Mt. Wilson from parking lot
The parking lot can be a bit rough as it seems it can be quite packed at times and the lot is very small. I recommend parking on the street if you can for easy access in and out.
There is some shade throughout most of the trails but if you are taking those longer trails up the mountain, I recommend bringing hat, sunscreen and of course water for the SoCal...

He leaves his little trimmings on the trail..4 to 6 inch pieces of plants and bushes. He chops at edges of trail causing it to erode. Mother Nature has done a good job with this trail and can do without constant OCD nit-picking. It's a Wilderness trail, not his personal garden. Last spring this trail was lined with beautiful wildflowers not seen in years. They were cut down with a chain saw and left in piles along the trail to dry out. Piles still there, ugly black and gray, fuel for a fire. What probably started out helpfully removing debris after a rainfall has snowballed into an obsession. ...
ย ย ย Read moreBailey Canyon Wildreness Park is a 1.7 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Sierra Madre that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. Moreover, it has multiple trails that lead to Jones Peak and Mt Wilson that can reach to 3,376 ft and 5,715 ft respectively. Getting onto the trail you'll go through the turnstile gate west side of Bailey Canyon Park. Easy study (loop) trail in oak woodland area, approximately an eighth of a mile. BCWP has a small free parking lot with trees around to provide shade. Overall I highly recommend this park as the base trail for anyone trying to get their cardiovascular endurance...
