Sturtevant Falls Hiking Trailhead — Attraction in Sierra Madre

This is one of LA’s most popular falls. It’s a 60 foot waterfall drop and is pretty especially after during a rain. About half of the trail is shaded as you traversed along cabins, campsites and lake beds. We went during September during one of the hottest days and started around 7:30 AM. Parking is very limited and you have to have an adventure pass to park at Adams Station. We paid $20 but is was well worth it. We saw donkeys, snakes and a family of Bear along the trail. It’s family friendly and is a little over 3 miles round trip. There are lots of trails here one that goes to Mt. Wilson 7 miles hike one way. This is a great start to hit Mt Wilson if you dare to.. lol i was able to go to the observatory and back and was the best!! I really enjoyed going thru the whole thing cause besides the beautiful waterfalls you come to camp sturtevant that was awesome. 15.2 miles is what you may do from here to the observatory and will definitely challenge you for about 1.4 miles of that stretch after sturtevant camp..
