Located on the tranquil southern end of Siesta Key, Turtle Beach has been our cherished spot for years in Sarasota, offering a serene escape from the bustling tourist areas.

What immediately captivates us about Turtle Beach is its unspoiled natural beauty. Unlike the iconic white sands of Siesta Beach, Turtle Beach boasts a more traditional sandy shoreline that feels wonderfully inviting. The sand here warms gently under the sun, perfect for leisurely strolls or simply lounging with a good book. It's a beach that exudes tranquility and authenticity, away from the usual tourist hustle.

While Turtle Beach does not have lifeguards on duty, which is worth noting for safety-conscious beachgoers, its amenities are thoughtfully designed to enhance comfort and convenience. The picnic areas, offering views of the lagoon rather than the ocean, provide idyllic spots for enjoying a meal amidst nature's beauty. Ample parking ensures easy access even during peak times, although trailer parking for the boat ramp can be somewhat limited.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Turtle Beach offers both a kayak launch area with a washing station and an actual boat ramp that comfortably accommodates boats up to about 25 feet. This versatility makes it a favorite for water activities, from leisurely paddling to adventurous boating trips exploring nearby waters teeming with marine life.

Living in Sarasota, Turtle Beach remains our go-to destination for its laid-back atmosphere and stunning surroundings. Whether we're seeking solitude or sharing the beach's beauty with friends and family, Turtle Beach never fails to provide a peaceful retreat.

In conclusion, Turtle Beach in Sarasota continues to exceed our expectations with its natural charm, warm sands, and thoughtful amenities. While it's important to note the absence of lifeguards and the specific views of the lagoon from picnic areas, Turtle Beach's serene ambiance and outdoor offerings make it an essential destination on Siesta Key. Whether you're a local seeking a tranquil escape or a visitor exploring Sarasota's treasures, Turtle Beach offers a memorable experience that invites you to return...

Has nothing to complaint other than know in advance that you do receive all check-in information emailed to you in advance. For some reason, the gate code does not always function properly.

Turtle Beach campground, county managed, is an ideal location for camping right on the beach. The site has direct Beach access for you to enjoy sunrise and sunset daily. Depending on when you camp, the location is ideal for your family. Quiet and clean.

Between May and Oct, it's turtle nesting season. If you're lucky, you get to witness Mother Nature in action.

Restroom has one shower and few toilet stalls. All clean. Laundry facility very clean as well. Another advantage is the free shuttle that services the island taking you from outside your campsite location to Siesta Kry Village, tens of shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. Shuttle runs every 20 min.

Best place for sunset since I've captured sunset around the world and yet the best is right in my own backyard, Siesta Key FL!

Turtle is so underrated what with Siesta down the street, but it's a great old-school Florida beach. Parking (free) is adequate and close to sand, there are bathrooms & showers, it's a short walk to the water, and, did I mention: it's a beach on the Gulf of Mexico!- not much more you could ask for. The sand's not all powdery soft like Siesta's, but its coarse coast boasts bountiful shells you won't find elsewhere on the Key (unless boating to less habited spots). And it's much less crowded and family friendly, too. Things to note: No lifeguards; No concession (however, restaurants are across the street); Is bookended by condos to the south and Turtle Beach Campground to the north; Has shady picnic areas; Has a boat launch into the intracoastal (and trailer parking); Has a (new) covered playground area. Has an accessibility ramp for wheelchairs; The free trolley stops &...
