Latest visit in July 2025. Fun and pleasant experience even for a mildly claustrophobic person. For those who are severely claustrophobic, view the video ahead of time. The duration in the tunnel is around 17-18 seconds with light traffic and traveling at 30+ mph. Not too bad at all. :-)

Great path following the "old highway". Good view, nice place to stretch your legs, and picnic spot. Be careful of falling rocks. While I was there in March we had some rocks break loose and fall. All the water freezing and contracting breaks pieces loose.

One of my FAVORITE spots!! It is a must every time I’m heading up to two harbors. It’s a nice place to stop, stretch your legs and enjoy an amazing view of the lake! It’s right on a trail & has a decent sized pull off spot to park!

Latest visit in July 2025. Fun and pleasant experience even for a mildly claustrophobic person. For those who are severely claustrophobic, view the video ahead of time. The duration in the tunnel is around 17-18 seconds with light traffic and traveling at 30+ mph. Not too bad at all. :-)

One of my FAVORITE spots!! It is a must every time I’m heading up to two harbors. It’s a nice place to stop, stretch your legs and enjoy an amazing view of the lake! It’s right on a trail & has a decent sized pull off spot to park!

I live right by the Silver Creek Tunnel and scenic overlook. The gorgeous view of our beautiful Lake Superior is exceptional. Before the tunnel was built the entire overlook area was once (a scary) part of highway 61. Once the tunnel was built in '94. I was quite happy when that old stretch of highway 61, became part of the Gitchi Gammi...

A really nice viewpoint/walk on the wayside of 61. Great views, good parking area and a nice spot for lunch with benches overlooking the lake. From the parking lot to the other end of the tunnel is all paved, and about 1.2 miles there and back. Nice stop to stretch your legs on...
