I lived here from 1961 - 1976. Great memories. Beautiful areas. Variety of weather even happens at the same time often. I've seen snow fall and rain and sunshine and hail in one day by looking around 360° in a 10 mile view. I love this place. It has a minimum of 6 well-known Ski resorts. Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Vail, Beaver Creek. You're surrounded by awesome colorful Mountains. Dillon Lake & the Blue River I've fished a lot. At night many places light up and during the winter much ice skating. I have gone back to visit many times. I left at 20 wanting to see other places and work other states. Read moreTrout in this lake are mostly really small compared to tanycomo lake back home and the bite just isn't vary good I fished below and above the dam not much luck every where I read says this is a gold medal fishing area but I read that they lost that status a few years ago all the tackle shops in town I asked said the fishing is great everywhere on this lake there lying back home no respectable tackle shop would ever say that they would tell you were the bite has been good and what color baits are working. I'll tell the truth tho this lake is a tourist trap all the restaurants in town are over priced and food just fills the void I can get 10x better tasting food back home for 12$ a plate I will never go back to this...
