Mel's Armond Specialty Meats & Processing — Attraction in Slidell

My 1st trip to Armond's was exceptional. Not only was the selection of meats and prepared meat and poultry impressive, but even more so the customer service.

The butcher asked if it was 1st time there, and gave me kind and very informative guided tour of the store. There is something still to be appreciated of community and service. Armond's is a leader in these, and it's appreciated. I definately intend to return and bring friends over to the enjoy the experience as well.

Bought: Choice brisket, Pork boudin, hot hog head cheese, and jalapeno cream cheese stuffed...

I've been shopping here for almost 20 years. They have the best variety of fresh, local meat and bread, seasoning & delicacies. Our favorite is the veal and filet (we used to drive back from TN just of the veal) but everything is great here-way better than anything than you can buy from any organic, expensive grocery. The lunch counter offers delicious options for everyone. Also, the owner and staff are just the nicest people ever which makes you want to shop here...

Garlic roast beef is delicious with their gravy. I must say though I bought steaks here that were full of gristle. Not good at all. And I went in yesterday for roast beef and a younger chubby fellow was not friendly at all. Seemed like he didn't want to be there. My total came to $20.03.
