Whispering Dreams Wedding Venue — Attraction in Smith Township

I was a guest at a wedding there. While the property and barn are beautiful, the experience was not a good one. The water to the bathrooms wasn’t working. So we couldn’t flush or wash our hands. (I just read this happened to another reviewer nearly a year ago so obviously they have a plumbing issue they aren’t fixing.) While guests were still eating (but the servers had left), the owner came down and started taking all of the food with them! This was not a little bit of food for them to eat while they were helping out. It was unopened trays of food while guests were still eating! Someone from the wedding party demanded to have the food back. Words were exchanged. Then, we were told the venue owners were kicking everyone out of the venue! This wasn’t because there was a drunken, rowdy crowd. It was because the owner was mad that she got called out for taking the food. It was just after 7 pm. The venue was rented until 11 pm. The cake hadn’t even been served yet. It was heartbreaking that the bride was crying on her wedding day because of the owner. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t ever go to another...

Brenda truly saved our Wedding. Our original wedding venue we had booked for a year and a half prior to our wedding day, cancelled on us 8 days before our wedding (7/26/2025). We searched and searched for venues that would be able to accommodate us on such short notice, with everything already planned, timelines finalized, etc. Brenda answered the phone and immediately said come check it out. We drove there, she gave us a tour and rundown of the beautiful venue and let our wedding happen. She truly holds a special place in our heart, as if it wasn’t for her letting us in with open arms and working with us, our wedding wouldn’t have happened. The venue is absolutely stunning. From the long driveway entrance to the barn, white fencing, there are absolutely zero eye sores and we were wowed that we haven’t heard of this place before. She is the sweetest lady, loves to chat with you & truly cares about your wedding day and her beautiful property. Wonderful venue for a wedding. The view is absolutely stunning. It felt like we were in a private mountain range in our very own forest. The reception area was large and bright and we really appreciated the actual restrooms as opposed to porta johns. I would love to be a guest at a wedding here again, as the bar and serving staff were excellent. I’m deducting two stars as the coordinator was absolutely nasty to our bride and wedding guests. She really made the event less than perfect and I would caution anyone considering this venue to prepare for her horrible attitude. As a guest I was very uncomfortable with her presence and it was truly a shame.

-UPDATE: I have to deduct all stars I offered in kindness to the venue and the staff because I was informed that this coordinator had done even more awful things than I was even aware of.
