Blackbird Farm - Rhode Island Raised Beef, Pork and Chicken — Attraction in Smithfield

I do NOT recommend Blackbird Farm! I was there recently for a wedding and had a very bad experience from the second I tried to park. The experience was so bad that I was immediately upset by the incident. I had never been there before so when I arrived I pulled in to the left enterance, (where the sign was,) through the gate. Other cars were in front of me and there were also cars pulling in behind me. We were greeted by a girl yelling and screaming at the cars that the venue was across the street. (Apparently we had to take a side street and go to the top of a hill to get to parking and the venue.) There was NO sign or any person directing the traffic to the correct area. She was screaming at the cars to get off of the grass when people were trying to turn around and had to go on the grass to do so. She was also yelling to watch out for her corgi that was running around the cars. (All she had to do is pick the dog up so it didn't get hit.) She was extremely rude and completely unprofessional!!! They should have been prepared for the traffic, maybe put a sign letting people know where to go. Or maybe been more professional and go to the gate and kindly direct us where to go! I would like to take a moment to thank the good people of Blackbird Farm.

My wife, daughter and I stopped there last night to pick up a Christmas tree. Unfortunately when we pulled into the parking lot we drove over a steep slope that the bottom of my wife’s truck got stuck on. We tried to drive and reverse a few times but one wheels was off the ground. The other wheels were just spinning. One of the owners Ann Marie came over to see if we were ok. We realized we were going to need a tow truck.

That was until we went back to look at the trees while we waited for AAA. There we meet Andrew, Tyler, Troy, Kevin and Brenden. These five gentlemen work at Blackbird Farm during the Christmas season. They also previously played football for Smithfield high school. They suggested my wife get back in the truck and the six of us try lifting the front end. See if we get lucky and get the tires to catch. And we did.

The odds of us meeting such a nice lady and five young men to help us in a tight spot are very slim. So to Ann Marie, Andrew, Tyler, Troy, Kevin and Brenden we just wanted to say thank you very much. I started buying my meat, pork and poultry here a few years ago when my nutritionist suggested that I started eating cleaner. I haven't looked back. The best investment that anyone can make is in their own health and natural, home grown meats and foods are the way to go. Anne Marie is very knowledgeable and truly cares about the product and about the farm stand and the meats that she sells. I see a few other reviews complaining about price so I ask everyone, do they complain about the price of the BMW or Mercedes ( or other vehicles they drive ), no because you get what you pay for.
