I’ve been coming to this park for almost 8 years, and it never disappoints. While sometimes it is inconvenient the amount of wild animal poop throughout the field, I’ve just come to the understanding that anytime I bring my dogs here, they will walk away very dirty. The size of the Dog Park cannot be matched, and while there are other dog parks that exceeded the size, they are not as safe in my opinion. The park itself is extremely large, and there is nothing to obstruct your view of your animal. And my favorite thing, is that it’s completely fenced in. There is a mutual understanding between all dog owners, that you can walk through the back gate, go over the trail, and walk down into the field that borders the river. Many times you’ll see dogs off leash in that field walking around with their owners. The ability to take your dog to the river where there are plenty of other dogs and dog friendly people is the reason that I now drive over 45 minutes to still frequent this park. The fresh river, water, and the friendly folks will always make this...
Read moreI love this place. It’s great for when you don’t feel like picking out and planning a hike but want more nature than just a neighborhood park. I drive my dogs out 3x a month from Seattle. Far superior to Marymoor which is usually so busy and has several “choke points” where the dogs get crowded together. There’s enough space to not have problems usually with badly behaved dogs. I have had one incident when trying to leave with a dog being pushy and aggressive near the gate but that’s the fault of an inattentive owner and is not a usual occurrence here. There is a designated “small dog” section but it’s like 30’x30’ which is a joke considering the overall size of the fenced section. But like I said, due to the size of the park, you can spread out and avoid problematic dogs. Elk and deer do jump the fence and end up in the park, I’ve never seen one inside but their poop is everywhere so keeping your dogs out of that is a challenge but that’s...
Read moreThe park itself is beautiful and we have been bringing our doodle here every week for the past 2-3 years. Today, our beautiful gentle friendly dog was viciously attacked by what we think were two huge Pyrenees dogs resulting in my dog suffering two full depth bites that had to be stapled by the emergency vet. The owner (a guy in his 50’s with grey hair) made NO ATTEMPT to call his dogs off or to intervene, my husband had to pull them off multiple times. He had the gall to tell us this “almost never happens” with his dogs! He offered no apology or help, shared no info, and told us to “have a nice day”. And no other people at the park with their dogs even attempted to help us or check he was ok after the attack. So my advice, steer well clear, there are mean dogs here and irresponsible owners at this park who will turn their back when another dog is attacked and take no ownership when their dogs make unprovoked attacks!...
