We just used the bridge as a starting point for a bike ride up to Rattlesnake Lake. There is a small parking area at the foot of the bridge.
Note that it is necessary to carry bikes up a short stairway to get to the bridge deck. If you have a heavy bike (like an e-bike), it would be better to park in North Bend at the park on Ballarat Ave between 3rd and 4th.
The ride is flat to North Bend (2.5 miles), then climbs at railroad grade (up to 3%) for a little over 7 miles to Rattlesnake Lake. From there we continued up the Palouse to Cascades Trail for another 5 miles or so, until we ran out of water. The ride back was mostly coasting on the shaded trail. A strudy, pedestrian only bridge that connects to a large network of nearby trails, you will often find people bridge jumping into the water below.
