Northgate González Market — Attraction in South Gate

I went shopping this morning to Gonzales market in South Gate.Not expecting the worst customer service that was provided by an employee there.I asked for fresh masa forestal tamales and he replied to me very rude.tben I asked if I had to make a line to order fresh just made Masa he asked how many pounds I needed I told him 15. He left me standing for 15 minutes on the side then I asked a lady in line if that was the line to order Masa she said yes I waited another 15 minutes no one was Infront of me until he said you want masa right I said yes.i waited 10 more minutes he's just talking away not paying attention to the customers.he hands me a bag of yellow masa I yd him i ordered white Masa he gave me attitude and told me very disrespectfully '' if you want White Masa YOU NEED TO WAIT" .this got me very upset.I looked for the manager..he's a very young male...didn't do much...I will never return to this store.... They need to have more respectful persons that take a training on how to treat customer also the Manager/supervisor didn't do much I always use to do my shopping here at Gonzales in South gate will need to look for a better customer service store...I hope other people complain too this way they improve on getting customer service oriented personnel not ignorant people that don't know how to respect the clients in...

This place never fails it has everything I need all the time the carnicera ladys are super awesome and the quality of meat makes every dish delicious ...the cashiers always smiling and friendly ... and the produce is always fresh you see the workers constantly checking and making sure everything is fresh...the cleaning crew is always making sure restrooms and floors are clean ...I've seen alot of negative comments but this is by far one of the best stores around sure it's a little more pricey by a few cents or dollars but honestly with the way they give back to the community when they do back to school raffles or Christmas and other giveaways ... I'm not mad ill spend my money here anyday!!!! And yes sometimes there can be a slight wait but thats cuz its full of customers everyone knows where the bomb stuff is at so they go to Northgate duh! I really wish I know the names of all these Rockstars that work here cuz everytime I go they always give the best service! Last thing is none of the other northgates compare I've been to many around the nearby cities and even the one in Otis and the service is not...

I have been going to this market for years and in the last few years, I have seen an improvement over all. I'm giving them 4 stars, because they are accomplishing what the need to pretty well, over all. This is not a Ralph's Fresh Fair, Gelson's or Whole Foods. It a local market chain focusing on Latino products and services. Here is what they do right Provide products that their clientele want and will pay for. For example, their meat department provides cuts of meat, poultry and fish that their customers want at reasonable prices. Provide a range of produce, dry goods and specialty items you won't find at your typical Big market chain. Provide great customer service. I don't really speak Spanish very well, yet they are always accommodating. They add value by having a full service bakery, food court and fresh juice bar (agua fresca, etc.)

Northgate gets a 4 star rating because they are being who they need to be for...
