Cassel Vineyards of Hershey — Attraction in South Hanover Township

What a great winery! We came here for a short day trip and I was blown away by the different wines available. Despite my rather sweet-favoring palate, the staff found multiple wines to satisfy that sweet tooth, as well as to expand my boundaries with not-so-sweet wines that I never knew I would enjoy! Fantastic local spot. No frills, but just lovely. People bring blankets and camp chairs and settle in with a view of the vines—and the peacocks! On Saturday night there was a food truck and live music under the pavilion. Very peaceful, family atmosphere.

Cassel is a side gig for the owners, I heard, and they make and package their own cider, shown below. The Apple Pie is quite sweet and the Black Cherry is tart and crisp. As of mid 8/2020, they were out of the Citrus flavor.

As far as I can tell, the wines are solid and there is a nice selection. I went home with a bottle of the Traminette. Super happy...

Cassel Vineyards of Hershey winery is truly a little gem off the beaten path of Hummelstown, PA. A wonderful tasting experience with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Sipping full pleasant flavor wines paired with mouthwatering Tina Marie chocolates. The sweeping view of the vineyards with horses around the farm fields during a hail storm was breathtaking.
