Read moreIn winter, it completely freezes over. Snow on top can make it a blinding white. In summer, the water is clear and dark blue. There is a resort on the north shore. There is also a campground across the road from the north shore. You can rent kayaks and canoes. The Emigrant Lake Trail runs along the south shore. One of it's tributaries, Emigrant Creek, can be accessed from that trail. The other, Woods Creek, can be accessed via a trail by the same name that leaves from the Woods Creek Trailhead, off the south side of Hwy 88, just east of the lake itself. In spite of all that, I have never seen this lake be anything close to busy. During this visit, I was fortunate to catch the lake at sunset. I've never seen it as calm as this day. Enjoy....
