Our Giant on Jonestown Road constantly impresses me with their variety of products that I cannot find in other stores. I can trust the Giant Nature's Promise brand across many categories from cleaning products to meat to vegetables to dairy/non-dairy alternatives. I would really like to see them carry some local organic milk inreturnable bottles - I go to Karns to get this now for my children so there is no plastic or paper milk carton to recycle or throw away. They have a big variety of organic and local produce including Dandelion. Iam always finding something new to try. They are expanding the organic, grass fed or free range, meat section to include products from hatfield and perdue. I am trying to use less packaging and plastic so I would like to see more unpackaged organic produce and organic free range meat at the meat counter that I can take home wrapped in just paper - right now there really isn't any. I found pasta made from red lentils. We always get the Amish roll butter. And recently I discovered the coconut milk Ice Cream. Another go to are Pete and Jerry's Organic eggs. Meat from animals living a good life tastes better and is better for your health. I choose products based on ingredients, how the product was grown, if it was local, and what I am supporting by buying...
Read moreThis store is a total ripoff. I'm new to the area so I went online to find a grocery store with good prices. I found the ad for Giant market and decided to give it a try. I did my shopping and when I went to the cashier I told her I was new in the area and asked her if I needed to have a club card to get the sale prices, and she told me no. As she was almost done she asked if I gave her my bonus card...I told her that was what I was talking about when I asked about the sale prices. I'm from California and I have never seen a grocery store only honor ad flyer prices IF you have their store club card. A sale price is a sale price. I was already hot and uncomfortable from shopping in their stores since they only have swamp coolers..not air conditioning, so I continued to pay so i could leave. The cashier told me that if i wanted to, i could go to their service desk and they would probably give me back the money i would have saved, if i signed up for their club card. When she gave me my receipt, it actually said: "you could have saved $31" if i had actually been charged the prices advertised in their ad flyer. I understand the concept of a "loyalty program", but SALE prices are SALE prices....At least everywhere I've ever shopped but Giant Food Stores!...
Read moreIt's very conveniently located. We call this one little giant. They have the essentials, but because it's a smaller store, it has less selection. I'm not picky, so this location works for me. I can get in and out quicker. The staff is always friendly and eager to assist. They have order for pick up and are efficient in preparing orders. Though the selection is smaller, what they do have is always available. They keep things in stock. I want to clarify a little bit. A smaller selection isn't necessarily bad. By smaller selection, for example, instead of having 20 brands of deodorant with three options each (deodorant | antiperspirant | deodorant+antiperspirant) and ten different smells, they may have five or six brands, a few smells each. This is completely fine for me, I prefer this over spending 20 minutes searching through deodorant. Convenient, quick, and...
