I wanted to find a place a short distance from the lake and get a bit of walking done and enjoy the lake view. However, I didn't want to wander alone in the forest for too long, not being so familiar with the area, so I drove to the N White Chapel Trailhead.

Parking is free but small. There were only three cars so there was room to park when I arrived.

Since I heard children's voices echoing from the direction of the lake, I ventured out towards it and found a group of young people and adults in the lake enjoying themselves.

I think this is a great place for hiking... if you are not hiking alone. I don't think it's unsafe but I find it more assuring to have someone else with you when you're "hidden" in the...

First time I've visited this trailhead. If you head west, you don't get a lot of water views. Lot's of side trails to take though. Heading east gives you the opportunity to walk along the shore, or take the teail that runs parallel to it. This portion of the trail had a little traffic, but not too terribly much, considering it was a beautiful Saturday morning. I came across more people on horseback than hikers. The trail is pretty flat. Very...
