This place is hard to rate. If I were a parent of small children I would have given it a higher rating because the water is placid and the cove is small enough to see kids at all times, but large enough that people aren't on top of each other. There were many dogs and dog lovers. The water was cold in late August. There were no waves, so this isn't where you're going to come if you want crashing waves. Minimal parking. Very local and a comfortable place to spend the morning getting sun and watching the water and families enjoying themselves. No bathroom.

Wish I had read the reviews before going. Lighthouse on private property and sadly the lighthouse is only viewable from a distance and is only partially visible. Would have loved to have gotten closer but fully understand private property owners wanting privacy. If you plan to go - plan during to go during low tide - big rock that looks accessible during low tide may give you a better view.

What a great little spot. Apparently it’s even better to hit at high tide and the teenagers do flips off that big rock into the ocean. Free parking but a very small lot, maybe 15 cars total? Great tide pool exploring and the gorgeous lighthouse. This was the perfect little break my family needed in between the botanical gardens and downtown BBH.

I have always loved coming to this beach! Just make sure you check the tides! At high tide there is hardly a beach here. Low tide is great, there is a big rock area you can climb up and look over the whole beach and out into the bay. The lighthouse is also right next to the beach. If you want to catch crabs this is the place to do it! They are everywhere,...
