We took a walk around the battlefield and enjoyed it, but the trail is grass, so its condition is subject to the weather conditions. There’s a way to cross the creek and access another walking trail from the far end of the battlefield but it’s not marked. Also, the trail goes out and back, it’s not a loop. If you want to walk a loop, then you need to go around the outside of a nearby field. This is ok, but the field is more rough and harder to traverse. I think that if you start at the battlefield trail head, walk the battlefield trail, and find a spot to cross the creek, then you can walk a loop on a paved trail system and return through the battlefield down to the parking lot at the trail head.

We really enjoyed our hike up spring hill battlefield. The Vista from up here is amazing and learning a bit about the troop movements was very interesting. There is an adjacent walking trail , but it's separated by a creek with no access between them. Understandably it has a bit of private property that divides the two, but it would be really nice to have them linked, since there is so much better parking (and restrooms) as part of the walking path. I really appreciate where we can preserve our historical sites and especially when we can visit for free!

We love coming here to fly kites during nice days. The walk up isn't too too bad but if you're handicapped it might be a little difficult. During the winter months when it does snow its a great place to go sledding. The only thing I have noticed is sometimes pet owners will bring their dogs here unleased. It isn't a big deal as long as the dogs are trained but to some it might make them nervous. Regardless its a great place to go for a walk. Or take pictures.
