My boys & I want to go back. Cool vibes.

When you walk in, the back of a dragon greets you. I wished that he was facing forward. We overlooked the table with free crayons & dragon coloring sheets. My kids were already getting into shenanigans on their own with a pinball machine. You order your pizza & choose your own seat. The host -polite & bored- managed to tell me about a special before he went back to his phone. The menu was a lot for a distracted mom on a super hot day. I did ask him questions & he answered respectfully. I digress. I ordered & paid the man.

He gave us our hard plastic cups for our drinks, we moved to our left near the drink station. We happily sat down front & center by the firebrick oven bar with bar chairs. I don't recall seeing anything for alcoholic beverages. My ten & twelve year old boys were with me. (They might serve adult beverages, it was lunch time when we went, during the 90° weather we had.) I was happy their air conditioning worked & that the oven was far enough away that I didn't feel any heat from it.

My boys managed to find the antique pinball machine immediately; 50 cents to play. They were happy; I was happy. I got ice water & sweet tea/lemonade from the drink station myself. I watched them play for a few minutes.

I used the bathroom, also clean & well managed. There was only a blower to dry hands, no paper towels. I can't recall if a diaper changing station was there? I saw the dragon coloring pages with crayons while heading back to our seats. Surprisingly the pizza was already in front of us, I believe we got there just before the lunch rush.

My boys were patiently waiting for me while they finished watching Disney's Holes on the big screen in front of us. I was shocked & so proud that they waited. They seemed immersed in the surroundings of the Viking decor hanging on the walls & the employees making pizza dough directly in front of us too.

The counter where we ate and the counter where they make the dough were connected, our counter was higher. It did somewhat surprise me that they had the counters so close. Maybe they had a plastic partition in front of it before and took it down? 🤷 I was just surprised that they didn't have more separation from customers eating and the dough prep counter. What if a drink spilled on the dough!?

I don't recall any employee saying a single word to us when we sat down, until we left. I caught a smile from one of two? Maybe that's the vibe they like? Non-invasive customer service? It definitely seems like a great place for a first date. I can see it stimulating conversations, & the fire from the brick oven, plus so many other experiences.

My boys watched Shrek while we finished up what we could. I have failed to remember what the fun Viking names for the pizzas were. We got a pepperoni & a Floki's (something?) basically a chicken, bacon, ranch, pizza with red onions. Both pizzas were fantastic. So many good choices for pizzas. The pizza crust was a bit flat, tough, and very airy. It held up with the toppings on the Floki's. The pizza was fantastic! It was cut well in the center on both, but the outer thicker crusts were difficult to pull apart. My boys needed my help getting their slices.

I noticed that there was a powdery texture of something on the table before we had sat down. This same powdery texture was on the bottoms of both pizzas. It made me wonder if the dough making had something spread to the counter top, or vice versa. I was almost overstimulated by everything around us. The TV and the pinball machine were not obnoxiously loud that I can recall. I think the TV was silent & had subtitles on. They had background music. Can't remember what though. It was enjoyable enough for a 41 year old woman to annoy her kids with; they mind.

To-go pizza boxes were at the end of the same bar counter near us, an odd location. Grabbed one ourselves. Left a tip, although I felt like a tip...

I will start with saying the pizza itself isn't bad. Not the greatest but it's pretty decent for TN. However the reason for the low review is poor service on every single visit we have made either dine in or pickup. If we call in a pickup order without fail the order is NEVER ready when you arrive. Often times they never even have made it yet. Busy or slow they don't know how to manage time and estimates. We always wait 15-25 minutes on each pickup order past the time we were given, with one visit resulting in a 45 minute wait because they apparently forgot to make our food and we just sat there until another employee noticed and finally checked on us. Never any appolgies just "shouldn't be much longer" or "should just be a few more minutes". It's been brought up with Viking in the past and the only excuse we received was they were busy but never any appolgies. I can't recommend this place when there are so many other pizza joints in Spring Hill with excellent food and service consistently. You do not get a lot of pizza for your money at Viking, their one size is a thin crust equivalent to a small at other places. The cauliflower crust is even smaller and more expensive. The owners should also be ashamed at their handling of customer complaints. Reading these responses to negative reviews they leave are very unprofessional and make me not want to...

Simply one of the best experiences you will find in a pizza restaurant, Great selection, Amazing taste and all of it prepared in front of you from start to finish! And when their busy it is quite a show! And that monster of a wood fired pizza oven, it is a sight to see! I usually do not leave many reviews but as a business owner, I have to comment on how impressed I am with the owner who has the talent and calmness to somehow manage all of the employees and all of the details necessary to make it all work. Go in on a Friday or Saturday night and see for yourself. I'm shocked at the petty , whining negative reviews, They should go to she store, purchase all of the ingredients needed to make a good pizza, cook it at home and see what they end up with. then go back to Viking and apologize to the owner and all of the staff who clearly are giving their all. I only talked to the owner one time shortly after they opened, He seemed like the type of person who would gladly take care of any issue on the spot if it was brought to his attention. To bad people feel the need to hide behind a keyboard now days and are more than happy to try to hurt a business for a issue that could be simply corrected if someone was made...

Family owned pizza restaurant with a cool, Viking themed vibe. Family friendly and we loved the music being played through the sound system (classic rock and 80’s alternative). The kitchen area is open to the dining area so you can see the huge wood fired pizza oven working it’s magic. We ordered a Margherita pizza and a pepperoni and mushroom pizza and both were delicious. Excellent selection of local, domestic and import beers. And they have quite a few interesting specialty pizzas on the menu, but you can always customize a pizza as well. There is no table service here. You order your pizza and drinks at the counter, they give you a number that you place on your table, and they bring your order to you. Soft drinks are free refills. They also have a fairly large outside patio area that is covered. A great, fun place for good local pizza.

Viking pizza continues to be a good to for our family when we want pizza. Their service is always top notch, and they accommodate special requests with ease. Today our order of 4 pizzas only took about 15 minutes to be ready, so by the time we arrived to pick them up, we just had to pay and be on our way. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and always will to give suggestions. Why the 4 stars then? A time or two, like today, our pizza does get a bit burnt. Nothing wild or inedible but still not the best tasting. I understand it can sometimes happen with woos fire pizza so not a huge concern. The shield maiden pizza (pictured) was still delicious and still one of my favorite combos. All in all, if you want delicious pizza in the Spring Hill area, ypu will not be disappointed with Viking Pizza.
