Weeki Wachee Marina — Attraction in Spring Hill

I was very pleased with the boat and experience. The only problem I had was that I called days prior before going and asked if I could reserve a boat and they told me that it was first come first serve. A friend arrived at 8am to get our boat the man told her the price of the boat and she stepped outside for 10 minutes, waiting for us to arrive. There were no other customers present so we were under the impression she could wait for us to pay for the boat. 10 minutes later, she went back inside and was told that all of the 6 person boats were rented. The man told her that someone called and reserved for all of the boats (when I was told days before that that couldn’t be done). We ended up renting two 4 person boats and by the time we got out it was 9AM, ALL of the 6 person boats were still docked. We rented for 8 hours but started to storm around 2PM, when we arrived back at the marina there were still two 6 person boats docked. If there are going to be “first come first serve” rules, I feel like it should apply to every customer. We had friends from all over the state drive 3 hours to meet here at the time of opening and had to end up splitting up into 2 separate boats. Traveling with three young kids can be a challenge, but the staff was incredibly accommodating, patient, and attentive. They took extra care to ensure everything was safe, comfortable, and fun for the whole family. The boat was in excellent condition, clean, and easy to navigate, and they made sure we had all the information we needed before heading out.

Drove 2 hours to rent a boat for a friends birthday, only to be told they are not renting anymore due to more rain coming (1:00pm). Then the forecast (hourly) shows the weather clearing up for the rest of the day after 1pm. When I told this to the guy at the counter he replied " were not going to stay here and have to clean one boat". So why are you open? Such great business and work ethic! It's fresh water so you don't need to flush it, what does he have to do spray down the inside when we're done!? Wow lazy people seize to amaze me. There was no lightning.
