I've been coming to this park for about 11 years now. I found it nearly right when I moved here to spring Texas, there's a lot of shaded paths off of the concrete path, there's horse trails, and there's even beachfront property to walk on. As you can see. The creek and there's even bogs and small ponds throughout the entire Trail. There is a great size parking lot and bathroom facility. You first come into the park. And next to that there is actually about a half an acre dog park that you can let your dog run around in. It is fully gated and does have water bowls available. Some picnic tables, I feel like it's a bit of a dust bowl, has the grass comes and goes and there are actual sandpits which I do not enjoy for my dog because it covers them in dust and sand before they get back in my car. However, my dog loaves this interaction with other dogs, so if I had one complaint it would be that they need to put grass through the entirety as when dogs get into groups. Groups not only do they get dirty but they also spin up all the dust and allergens and it can really cause some serious allergenic responses to humans like myself who are quite sensitive and full of allergy responses. There are also kids areas. I guess you would call them playgrounds, I believe there's two different areas that they exist in. Goes I believe 20 some miles, and like I said there are plans and it runs along the river throughout the entire trailhead. People ride their horses, I've seen motorized scooters and the newest thing looks like a hoverboard. There's bicycle clubs that come through here quite regularly during the weekends. And they have great picnicking options for the family and friends as well. Overall, I think it's pretty great even though it's kind of small despite the long distance trails that you can connect to that do go quite far across the metropolitan area. Something to note, there are many snakes who bathe themselves on the trails so you should probably be aware of that, and there's bobcats out and about. So if you go by yourself, maybe bring a walking stick, a dog, and something just to protect yourself, I have never had personally a problem, however, I have heard about this bobcats issue and so I thought I would share that on here as well. And although dogs are required to be on leashes, if your companion is very obedient, you probably can feel free to allow them that way. I see that regularly and I wish my daisy was as obedient as these other people's dogs ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜† Goals, right ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ’—โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿค— And also consider bug spray when you go because all of the water invites many different types of bugs to be around as well. I discovered this dog park about 3 months ago. I love it, my dog loves it. And the people we have met are very nice as well. There are 2 separated dog parks (1 for dogs 20lbs and under & 1 for dogs over 20lbs) makes it easy for my girl to Learn socialization without being bombarded by large dogs. However today an incident happened and I wanted to share.

Two men entered the small dog area of the park with three large dogs (a German Shepherd, a Husky, and a large mixed-breed dog of similar size). When another person brought their small dog into the designated small-dog enclosure, the larger dogs immediately crowded and chased the smaller dog in an aggressive manner. Despite the smaller dog showing clear signs of fear and yelping in distress, the owners of the larger dogs insisted their dogs were โ€œjust playing.โ€

When reminded by the owner of the small dog that the park has separate areas for small and large dogs and that they should move to the large-dog area, the men became verbally aggressive and told the small dogโ€™s owner to leave because they were there first. To avoid further escalation the police were called, the men gathered their dogs and left the small dog area to their vehicles in the parking lot and officers spoke with them.

The small dog was shaken and frightened, and this incident has left park users concerned about safety and rule enforcement. Who enforces the park rules specifically the rules for the dog park to help prevent...

Good doggo park. Close to parking, people restrooms and greenbelt trail. Seperate sections for large and small pups. Water available in the fenced area. Often have kiddie pools for splashing. After rains, has several areas that are muddy and some mud pools. If you dog loves that, bring an old towel. There is a wash-off hose just outside the entrance. Lots of trees and a couple squirrels that like to tease. Plenty of room to play chase or fetch. Walk path circle, if you want to stroll. Several benches, but they are popular, no guarantees you'll get one. Shade is highly variable by time of day. Regulars are pleasant, and their people not too bad either. Several collection bag posts and...

I like this dog park in the wood! There are two zones for small and big dogs, and theyโ€™re both big. Usually for small dogs is a smaller space, but not there, and we like it. There is a big parking lot, so leave car is not a problem. I also was surprised why there (small dog area) were nobody. Such a nice place for walking with dog but empty. Only in a big dog park were a few dogs. Only thing I donโ€™t like is a lot of mosquitoes, because this park located in the wood. Leave a mosquito spray was my mistake. I do like this quiet area and fresh air, so Iโ€™ll come back again!

Everything is bigger in Texas, except dog parks. Not sure where you go for a several mile walk/run and a chance to play with other dogs but this is not it unless your idea of exercising your dog is mind numbing circles on a 300 meter track. Good for about 20 minutes before boredom sets in or you witness aggression from poorly managed puppers
