The recent "maintenance" from the landscaping company that came to Lake at Springwoods Village Nature Preserve on 10/30/2025 and 10/31/2025 completely decimated the natural area here. They normally cut the brush around the pond and leave the bank where many animals live alone. But this visit, they took a boat out with a crew and completely destroyed the small bank within in the pond. They cut down trees that had been there for the past 5-7 years and destroyed the brush where there were established nests for birds. There are also alligators that live and use that bank for a refuge. The local community is very devastated by this. This is also a very important season and area migrating birds that often stop by this area for refuge and it is completely gone. Many people passing by were taking pictures of this area as for the past 5-7 years this area was untouched and minimally affecting anything. This area is supposed to be a nature preserve and whoever allowed this completely destroyed that area and its purpose. I have included pictures before and after the...
Read moreWARNING Beautiful place but it doesnt have any aligator warnings in the water and they have signs incenting people to get close to the water by kayaking and fishing. I see a lot of people walk with their dogs and kids. I've seen people get close to the water, too so I'm posting this to help prevent anyone from getting hurt. This trail is beautiful and I'll keep going but I'd be more cautious...
