First of all, the tour guid was very kind and sweet. The sloths were as I’d always dreamed of amazing, beautiful animals! I mean actual angels on earth. However…this sloth experience was a birthday surprise and my husband doesn’t understand the difference between an animal sanctuary and animal cruelty for human amusement and profit. When we arrived i was sick. I’ve never seen such sadness with animals in real life The timber wolves, actually looked severely depressed and close to death. They were not cared for. Outside in the sun. 105 degrees, in an area smaller than my suburban backyard. I said something-they replied they have a pool. I had to look for it. There was a run down tiny kiddie type of pool towards the back. Don’t even think it was filled. If it was, the water had to have been like a hot tub. The black bears! I never knew bears panted like dogs. These bears were in misery, very sad, unhappy and tormented. Could barely breath. Also in a tiny backyard like space, with a very small warm kiddie pool. The large tortoises. I finally really spoke up. Were sitting together under some wood shade. It was a small, makeshift place for shade made of thin wood boards. Their only place for shade. They had no pond, no water. There was a dirty mud hole, with water probably ankle high. Size of small round kiddie pool again. The tour guid called it a pond. It was not. It was green, hot and nasty. My heart was broken by time we made it to the sloth experience. The sloths seemed cared for a bit more. Probably because people actually interact with them. $$$ Again, they were amazing. I love them dearly. But, i love all animals and think they deserve better. Much better. These animals are tortured for someone’s profit and your amusement! When i left i had a pit in my chest, felt ill, felt angry, and like i want to somehow save them all! I was and still am depressed. It had tiger kingdom vibes. There was more, but this is just what we saw. I didn’t want to see anymore. This was depressing and sickening enough. These animals are mistreated, on display for your enjoyment. It’s honestly enraging and disturbing! The worst emotion this caused was guilt. Guilt for knowing about this situation and having my hands tied. Guilt for enjoying my 30 minutes with these amazing angels (sloths) forced into this prison of life they are in. I’m crying writing this. For those who enjoy this, please stop and think and remember to have compassion and love for living beings. For the people profiting from this, and allowing this treatment, you are cruel and sadistic in the worst...

From the moment I arrived at the park, I was impressed by the cleanliness and organization of the facilities. The pathways were well-marked and easy to navigate, and there were plenty of informative signs and exhibits to help me learn about the animals.

Speaking of the animals, I was blown away by the diversity of species that TGR Exotics has to offer. From exotic birds and reptiles to big cats and primates, there was no shortage of incredible creatures to see. What's more, the animals all appeared to be in great health and spirits, which is a testament to the care and attention that the staff provides.

Speaking of the staff, I cannot say enough good things about them. Every member of the team that I interacted with was friendly, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about their work. They were all eager to answer my questions and share interesting facts about the animals, which made for a truly educational experience.

Of course, one of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the animals. The park offers a number of interactive experiences, such as feeding the giraffes and lemurs, that allow visitors to get a more intimate look at these amazing creatures. I found these experiences to be both fun and informative, and they really made my visit to TGR Exotics stand out.

All in all, I would highly recommend TGR Exotics Wildlife Park to anyone who loves animals or is looking for a unique and educational day trip. With its impressive collection of exotic species, friendly staff, and interactive experiences, it truly has something...

BEST animal encounter! My son and I had such a wonderful experience here today. Gwen is so kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the tour and the reptile encounter. The animals were all precious and so happy and well cared for. Jared and Jeff were our guides in the reptile encounter and just the BEST. So personable, made you feel comfortable with the animals right off the bat. Explained everything first, including dos and don'ts. I have a very busy 11 yr old boy and he left saying he and Jared were great friends. They were so patient with everyone and especially the kids. We didn't want to leave and will be back soon as we are already missing the animals. We learned a lot about each animal there and there wasn't a question asked they didn't know how to answer. Wonderful group of folks. So much better than fighting traffic to the Houston Zoo and standing so far away from the animals and not knowing if you'd ever get to see a handler. Tips: READ the emails Gwen sends after you book. They are very organized and informative on what to expect. She as owner is still very hands on in providing tours. if you call, she does call back as soon as she is done, if you don't get someone first try, they are with the animals. Promise what ever small amount of time waited on a phone call is...

TGR Exotics Wildlife Park was so much fun. My husband, our 2 year old, and I visited today, July 11, 2021. We did the regular tour. You must make a reservation in advance. We made ours online on the Wednesday before. The parking is along the side of the street in front of the fence with all the animal silhouettes. We were told to wear closed toe shoes, and I’m so glad we did. I would suggest rain boots because there has been a lot of rain lately and there were some wet/muddy places. MAKE SURE YOU WEAR BUG SPRAY! There were mosquitoes and biting flies. Our guide was fabulous! She knew a ton of information about all of the animals and she got them moving. I thought the porcupines were super neat, but my favorite was the otter. There were several goats and pigs that were out and about roaming the property. We were able to pet them when they came around. My only complaint is that there were several animals we didn’t get to see. Their enclosures were too far from the other or down a different path completely. I don’t know if maybe that is part of a different experience, or maybe it was too wet to go over there, but we didn’t get to see the kangaroo and the emus. The llamas aren’t there during the summer because it’s too hot. I think this place is a good time for families.

So…my wife LOVES animals, more than I do. She has always wanted to actually see and interact with a sloth and I had no idea a place like TGR Exotics existed, until I searched on Google Maps and hot damn this place exists! So I surprised her with the Sloth Deluxe Encounter and the Ultimate Reptile Encounter. First off, communication from TGR is great! You’ll get reminders via email and also Gwen sent me text reminders as well. Id recommend booking early morning or evening tours when it’s cooler outside now that it’s summer. Jeff led our sloth tour and he was great! I won’t give any spoilers to the tour but it is well worth it if you love sloths and a few other cool guys you’ll get to interact with. Jeff was also part of the Ultimate Reptile Encounter, along with George and Tim. All three are just great guys and they love what they do, and they love the animals. My wife was one happy lady that day and we’ll definitely be going back for other tours. I’d give this 10 stars if I could! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I feel like this place is a hidden gem. I liked that though because it wasn’t crowded and hectic. We hosted our daughters 10th birthday party and had an unforgettable time at TGR. Gwen was extremely helpful with tips for the guest, they decorated beautifully for the Capybara them. I liked that the tour was private too. You don’t get that anywhere else for the price. Rachel, our guide, was so patient and informative. She gave a great tour and we learned so much about all the animals. They have so many different animals and you can tell they are very well taken care of. They have personalities and act super healthy for their age. I was amazed. I want to go back just for my own pleasure because I need to pet more animals. With a party of 20 guests and some showing up late, you are kind of limited in time. It was an amazing experience.
