Ellis Barn — Attraction in Springfield Charter Township

Recently I attended a beautiful wedding followed by reception. There was more than enough space for 200+ guests for the ceremony on the 1st floor. Followed with the reception on the 2nd floor. The bridal party had enough space and rooms(horse stalls) to get ready as well as keep the bride and groom separated before the ceremony on the 1st floor. Enough seating, room for a full bar, dance floor, DJ, and private entrances if wanted for VIPs on the 2nd floor. Beautiful grounds for pictures, and more than enough parking for all. All in all, it's a very rustic feel. The direction we're fairly good for getting there and out. The problems I encountered from directions were from detours i believe. The only negative thing I can say about this venue is that being historical, you can't have any heating and no running water, as well as a dirt entrance and parking lot. If wet, prepare for some mud. Every year for past 10 years I bring my kids to the Oakland County Fair. We love it. Safe, clean, great food, wristbands for rides..miracle of life barn.....shows every hour on hour. A ton to do and see. $12 parking is a bargain...we had 4 people! That's all it costs to get in! Too much to add in one review..let's just say you HAVE to check it out. Every year. Rustic, no air conditioning, does have an inside chair lift to the upper level (wedding below-reception above). Gravel covered ramps to the upper level (stairs inside) so high heels are iffy. Restrooms are outside in an air-conditioned trailer, and I don't remember it being wheelchair accessible.
