We had a fun experience for veggie picking last weekend, the reason i only give 2 stars are: a. I like the fact that they have many choices to pick,-they earn 5 stars here. b. When you actually there, 20 choices on list cut half, because either people before you already pick whatever available, or they don't grow quality veggie. Like pickle cucumber, i was so excited to pick, then i find there are only two little sad pickle cucumber on the floor; i wanted to do onion picking, their onions are as big as a big cherry tomato; -this gets 3 stars. c. we love broccoli, but the broccoli filed smells like hell and full of bugs, we thought that's how the farm land supposed to smell so we picked some, when we arrived home the broccoli continue to smell rotten vegetable, on top of that we brought home (or the bugs already in broccoli) like 100 little flying bugs, so gross! - zero star. d. String bean we picked taste not good, not sweet at all and they are hard to eat, like the the skin so hard that you don't enjoy even they are fresh from the ground. feel the farm opens to public because they over grow those string beans, and stupid us has to spend time and money to pick things...
Read moreI've been going to this farm for the past few years after long drive and paying high tolls from Brooklyn. Today, they forcefully charged me $30 for just some Zucchini flowers without zucchini. I believe I picked about less than a pound of zucchini flowers without counting, thinking it would be for free or low cost as there was no sign at the field. The only sign present at field read "75 cents per zucchini". The persons at the register was very disrespectful although I explained that I didn't see any price sign for the zucchini flowers at field and was not aware of its high cost (which they said thaf the cost is 25 to 50 cents - per tiny zucchini flower without zucchini). When I requested that I didn't want those outragoeously expensive flowers they said that I shouldn't have picked them and must pay. I felt awful the way they treated me as a routine long distance customer, and plan to never go...
Read moreLots of fun. Pay attention to the staff about where to pick your strawberries. One might think the pickings are slim; knowing which way the “you pick” is going will lower the anxiety about finding lots of ripe strawberries. Once you find the ripe unpicked rows, you’ll have the best time. These strawberries are so sweet and if you don’t have the strongest back, no one will blink twice if you have a seat in the row. Maybe bring a little square mat. The other side of the farm is great too. Such delicious English shelling peas 🫛. If you pick broccoli, don’t give up. It may look destitute at the beginning of the row. We found humongous heads half way down. Strawberries are the popular pick but it was so worth the extra hour we spent going to and picking on the veggie side...
