Bring a weapon and prepare to defend yourself. Most people who bring dogs to this park have an "anything goes" attitude and think they aren't responsible for the I pets behavior because "if you don't like it, don't come to the dog park." (This and similar have been said to me many times by numerous people.) My dogs and I have been attacked, (surrounded, chased, knocked down, bit, trampled, jumped on, etc.) on several occasions while the owners make no effort to intervene. To be fair, this isn't really the park's fault, but rather the quality of people you'll find in Thurston. You could realistically find yourself in a similar situation at a grocery store...

To top it all off the counter worker refuses to even sell packaged candy claiming she needs a food handlers card... FALSE! You only need the card for prepared foods! The grounds are well-maintained, the bathroom is always clean, and there are lots of features for everyone. If you want a huge area with lots of seating and food prep area to throw a party or picnic, this would be the place! Call ahead to reserve one of their shelters.
