We go to Youngs often and eat at the restaurant. We decided to go here for Mother's Day. I looked at their Facebook Page and it said a buffet was available, but it didn't say the buffet was the ONLY food available. We aren't buffet people as we don't eat much and we all have our favorites at restaurants. We arrived after traveling 20 minutes and found out that was the only food. Disappointment would be an understatement. It was already dinner time, so we stayed.
The buffet was set up horribly. There wasn't anywhere to place a plate if you were getting your food and food for a small child. The plates were also very heavy (their normal plates). The food selection was very limited and picked over, especially for the price (around $22 per adult). The meatloaf was burnt black, the beef and noodles were super runny, the sweet potato bread was always gone and the dessert was tiny pieces of pie (no ice cream). They were carving sirloin at the end, but by then, you had selected food. I tried a bite my husband picked up and it was super chewy with no flavor.
We had a 5 year old with us and she has Autism. There wasn't anything on the buffet that a typical 5 year old would eat. There wasn't macaroni, chicken tenders or anything similar.
There was: burnt meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, beef and noodles, buttermilk chicken (looked like grilled/fried chicken), sliced sirloin, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, applesauce, salad, rolls and some pie.
Overall, they should have made it clear that the only food would have been the buffet, so we wouldn't have...

For some reason, the Mac and cheese tasted off. I thought it was normal considering it was most likely made with cheese cultured from the farms dairy. I liked it, but many in my party did not.
The cheese curds were delectable! Try them with the buffalo sauce!
I was torn as I wanted the breaded pork tenderloin and the buttermilk chicken. Originally, I ordered the combo with the chicken and the honey ham. However, my MIL also wanted both(only chicken is on combo meal). We decided to cancel our combos and she ordered one and I ordered the other. The breaded pork tenderloin is INCREDIBLE!!!! Next time I go, likely I'll order double! The buttermilk chicken was good. Green beans are the fresh picked style. The mashed potatoes are lumpy with no real flavor. Applesauce, cole slaw, and sweet potato bread(tastes like pumpkin bread).
Make sure to leave room for ice cream, also made using...
Read moreWalked in for a late lunch and was told the wait would be half hour. We ended up being seated in five minutes. When our waitress finally came by to take our drink orders, we were then told to go on to the buffet. We were not offered menus, which I'd have preferred since I wasn't exactly starving. We went through the buffet line and still didn't have drinks a quarter of the way through eating our meals. All we asked for was water, nothing complicated. The waitress stopped by to tell us she'd bring our check, and we ended up having to wait an inordinate amount of time for it, only to find that the bill for two of us (with nothing to drink but water) was $47. FORTY-SEVEN DOLLARS. Forty-seven dollars for two plates of fried chicken (which was dry). We've eaten there before and it was good. But this was ridiculous. The food was not as good, the service was awful, and it cost a small fortune. When you think of spending $23.50 per meal, that's not the place you think of spending it. We will never go...
