Fisherman take : During the warmer months there is too many people, most whom dont respect fisherman including other people fishing. People will constantly fish on top of you/cross you, boaters/floaters will run over your line, sometimes people on the beach feel the need to BLAST the same crap playlist on repeat for a couple hours, uneducated people fishing/killing good non rainbow trout without planning on eating etc. Also they fenced half of the fishable stream and destroyed / made private the path down from the free parking so now i have to walk around lol, i dont live in springville now that i want a pass ofc 🤣😭. Other than all that 🙄, its awesome for fishing. I already talked and befriended Chris the dnr agent about adding brook trout to the pond for a little more diversity. Havent seen any yet and people have all but killed out the tigers and cutthroat. I just hope they stock it with more good fish and less rainbows nearing the end of this warm weather 🤞 Non fisherman take : its nasty water, always multiple dead fish and rodents like muskrats. Idk why people want to swim in these low altitude still water ponds/rez. At least go up to deer creek or some other higher altitude rez... its a little cleaner imo, im not a huge swimmer anyway. The beach is semi small which in turn pushes non fisherman to the grass taking more fishing space. On the other hand you got next to no option but to set up camp next to another group/family if wanting a spot on the beach. Pavilions are actually not in use 90% of the time and have little grills to cook on. Bench seats. Would be nice for weekend get togethers...

Overall a great place to go. I prefer going earlier in the day before the crowds. It gets super crowded in the summer, almost overkill especially during summer prime hours. We need like 5 of these locations! :)

It's nice though because you can visit year round.

Two things that prevents a full 5 star review for this reservoir . 1st - The facilities should be kept up better. They are kinda grunchy. Particularly seeing how this is a fairly new location built. I want to at 2018? Either way they need to be rebuilt cleaned and they just are not. Also, if official hours are from 7 am - 10 pm, there should be someone there to clean them?

2nd - The "beach sand" is only getting worse every year. It used to be pure soft white sand. You could actually build a sand castle. Now....good luck. It's literally small rock dirt.

Springville at least once a year import new sand and get rid of the crap that makes this location less desirable.

Keep in mind during peak season months, You do need a parking pass. You can pay onsite or if you are a springville resident you can go to the city building with proof of residency and get a pass for free.

Quiet hours are from 10 pm -7 pm Monday thru Sunday.

Yes, you can fish here, and there are plenty of ducks and a few other critters running around.

Has a nice paved walking path around the reservoir.

Overall a great...

I brought my 16 y/o daughter & her boyfriend, my friend brought her kids, 3 & 9... They all had a blast. It is hard to find somewhere that pleases everyone (including us moms) & nearly impossible to find one for free! There's grassy areas or sandy beach space on the shore depending on your preference. The shallow space for the little ones to play in is nice and big & the slope isn't steep at all. Then there's plenty of space in deeper areas for the big kids toys or even fishing. The restrooms & changing areas have always been clean & the small staff is friendly. We usually take a lunch, but it's great to have the option of the concessions stand. The play area & trail are nice in case the kids want to longboard, bike, or do something other than swim. To top it all off you've got the beautiful view! The fact that it can get really busy & difficult to find parking at times is really the only negative I've experienced here. I think there may be a parking fee or cost of some kind if you're not a Springville resident. You can find the info on the city website & I know it's not too much. I definitely recommend you to come check it out for yourself if you...

Went here twice this summer. The first time with friends and getting there by 9:30 is helpful to get the spot you want on the beach and pay for parking and get settled and time to blow up paddle boards or whatever.. because it’s an all day event! Clean sand and water.. if kids make canals from the water to a sand pit -the water gets really milky and yucky … but first thing in the morning it’s so clear! A few dead fish that can stink but overall a great family friendly place. Bathrooms and even a place to get a burger and nachos! I took my family back and we recommend a canopy and sand toys, and life jackets and coolers with plenty of food and drinks so you can have lots of fun in the sun!

Parking cost $10 but I'm okay with that, BC look at this place!!! It's not gross like some other public rec ponds are and it has shady spots, flush bathrooms, and tons of great sand. Go before lunch time and you'll have plenty of space. We built sand castles and made huge rivers and canyons and carried buckets of water to the top to pour down through our creations, much to the delight of the three toddlers. We also went out paddle boarding somewhere between 8-10 times. The water is pretty cold, but honestly, you do get used to it and it's fine since it's over 80 degrees by 9:00 anyway. You need to check out this park!
