The gallery was wonderful! The art was tastefully displayed, and showed great talent and diversity. While I was there , I experienced some dizziness, and had to sit down briefly. I was immediately approached by a young lady who offered me a bottle of water. When she brought it, she asked if I needed further assistance. She was quite lovely. I used the handicap facility in the Ladies restroom, and found it not only scrupulously clean but also well equipped. My family ranged from ages 9 to 85, and every one of us had an enjoyable experience at Penland. We would heartily recommend it...and we will...

Penland Gallery displays finr craft created by some of the country's best artisans. The items on display and for sale are electric and beautiful.

The staff is friendly and will help to inform visitors about the creators on display as well as others in the area.

Prices range from a few dollars for letterpress goods to large pieces that cost thousands of dollars. But looks are free and well worth the time to explore and appreciate.

It is a short drive to the school parking where you can walk the grounds, but not enter the studios without approval.

The gallery is a very beautiful and well maintained space but is not very large. It was nice to see some of the work of the artists. There is a short video, more like a promotional video, of the school on repeat and you can read the history on a timeline that is pictured on the wall. You can then walk around the campus, there are a couple of small parking areas. The campus is not large. You can look into windows in some buildings, but it felt like that would be weird and intrusive to do so. Overall there isn't much to do here, if there were some trails to walk they weren't...

Wonderful collection of pieces. Lots of different styles, techniques and crafts. All odds extremely high quality. There are always new things that make you marvel at the creativity and the technical skills of the artists and crafts. I know it's a little out of your way but it'll be soooooo worth your time. On the way up we saw a doe with not one, not two, but three fauns and on our way down we saw a pied buck. That's pretty good too.

Wow! Well worth the visit to this out of the way Artists campus. The gallery is filled with awesome, unique art in many mediums by professional artists. A gallery room shared the unique history of the campus and another space has a rotating gallery of exhibits. There are more areas of the campus to explore and a coffee shop open to the public. Definitely put this on your list to visit when in the area!
