I had the pleasure of visiting The Prisoner Wine Company yesterday, a picture-perfect setting nestled amid the grandeur of Napa Valley. The occasion was a large get-together with my colleagues, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary.
As a vegan, finding a restaurant that not only caters to your dietary preferences but also delivers on taste can be quite a challenge. However, The Prisoner Wine Company exceeded my expectations with its impeccable service and bespoke culinary offerings.
The highlight of our visit was the personalized attention we received from the staff, despite being a large group. Every single interaction was a testament to their commitment to provide a unique and individualized experience.
Chef Leland was a star, accommodating our vegan and other dietary restrictions with such ease and creativity that we felt nothing but welcomed. He went above and beyond, preparing off-menu dishes that were both innovative and delicious. There was never a moment where we felt like an inconvenience; instead, we were treated like esteemed guests.
Chef Brett, with his expert knowledge of pizzas, also played a pivotal role in elevating our dining experience. His ability to cater to our collective needs was truly commendable.
Our meal was accompanied by a selection of the estate's finest wines. The wine tasting experience was an absolute treat, showcasing the brilliant craftsmanship that goes into every bottle. The rich, robust flavors of the wines perfectly complemented our food, enhancing the overall gastronomic journey.
But beyond the food and wine, what truly sets The Prisoner Wine Company apart is its dedication to create a memorable experience for every guest. The staff's attentiveness and personal touch truly left a lasting impression.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience in Napa Valley, especially to my fellow vegans and those with special dietary requirements. The food, the wine, the ambiance, and most importantly, the people, are truly fantastic. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreLove their wine. Have been waiting for years for them to open up a tasting room. Was really excited to check them out and thought about signing up for wine club before going in.
Booked a tour for two people, $65 per head. We arrived 30 mins early for a 2pm tour so that we can look around before the tour started. Contemporary lounge-type vibe with interesting artworks being displayed. Started getting bored around 2pm since there wasn’t much space to explore. As we are sitting in a lounge area, one staff walks by and asks us to wait in a different room so that they can make space for others. Checked in with the hostess again to see when the tour will start and was informed that the tour is being delayed. Started our tour at 220pm. No apologies.
The tour included a less than a 5 minute walk into the outdoor garden by the entrance with a big bench, which seemed very familiar. The tour guide then informs the group that the property was previously Franciscan estate, which has been renovated. I knew that bench looked familiar. The tour guide also informed us that they don’t have a permit yet to give tour of the wine making facility. We ended up waiting 50mins for a 5 min underwhelming tour.
The guide brought us back to the tasting room that we were sitting in for 50mins (while we were waiting) and gave us pours of the same wine that we regularly drink on our Friday nights.
For $130, I’d expect richer experience. For anyone who loves the prisoner wines and expects typical napa winery experience of learning about the winery and seeing the facility first hand, I’d recommend going elsewhere until they actually get their permit and better design for the visitors experience. For $130 and 2 hours in Napa, I could have explored other things like more wine or friendliness
We left sad and disappointed. I will still buy their wines when I am at Costco but will never visit this...
Read moreI recently visited The Prisoner Wine Company with my husband and dog, and it was nothing short of fantastic. The winery, a revamped version of the old Franciscan winery, has been transformed into a modern, welcoming space that's perfect for wine enthusiasts.
Our host for the tasting, Red, was a standout. Her knowledge about the wines and the winery's history was impressive, and her helpful demeanor made our experience even more enjoyable. She guided us through each wine with expertise, providing insightful details that enhanced our appreciation for each sip.
What made our visit extra special was the warm welcome extended to our four-legged family member. It's not often you find a winery that's as accommodating to pets as The Prisoner Wine Company. Our dog was allowed inside during the tasting, making our experience feel homely and inclusive.
The wines themselves were exceptional. We had the opportunity to taste several exclusive wines that are only available to visitors and members of the winery. Each wine was unique, with complex flavors and aromas that spoke of the high quality of their selection. This exclusive offering was so impressive that we decided to join the membership by the end of our visit.
Overall, our experience at The Prisoner Wine Company was fantastic. The combination of knowledgeable staff, excellent wines, and a pet-friendly environment made it a memorable visit. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a remarkable wine tasting experience. We're already looking forward to our next visit! Don't forget to...
