Bella Union Winery — Restaurant in Napa Valley AVA

Bella Union Winery was absolutely beautiful. From the moment we walked in, the space had such a great vibe—elegant, cozy, and inviting. The ambiance was lovely, and we were excited to sit down and start our tasting.

But once we were seated, I realized it was just too loud for me to hear my friends clearly (I’m hard of hearing), and the acoustics made it tough to stay engaged in the conversation. I mentioned it to the manager, McKenna, and she was amazing. Even though they were completely sold out and we were already on our second round of wine, she went out of her way to move us to a quieter room. She truly didn’t have to do that, but she made it happen and continued to check in on us throughout the visit to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of.

Tarad was our server and he was also fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, super funny, and just made us feel so welcome the entire time. His energy really made the experience even better.

Everyone at Bella Union went above and beyond to make our visit special. It honestly turned what could have been a frustrating situation into one of the best tasting experiences I’ve ever had.

Also, I have to say—I absolutely loved the Cabernet. It was so smooth, with this buttery finish that I’m still thinking about. I’ll definitely be back, and I’ll be recommending Bella Union to anyone...

We went to enjoy an afternoon at The Wren Social Hour and were told the patio was too busy, so we sat at the bar—even though there were plenty of open tables outside. Our host started off friendly, but didn't listen to what we wanted. We planned to share a couple of glasses or maybe a bottle of wine, but he pushed us into a tasting instead, saying we could share. By the third pour, he scolded my guest for drinking "too much" of my wine and warned we'd need to buy another tasting if it continued.

I bought another tasting, which ended up being just one pour of the last wine, "so we could make our own decision on wine choices.” After that, we each ordered a glass, but they were served in tasting glasses—while our host poured his shift drink into a proper stemmed glass and enjoyed his drink, which we had to borrow for photos.

As a Far Niente corporate customer, I was disappointed by the lack of wine knowledge, the pretentious attitude, and the poor service. I only signed up for the wine club because I enjoyed the wine itself.

The views at Bella Union Winery are something out of this world; breathtaking and captivating, they complete the setting and make for an unforgettable backdrop.
