Blessed, Beautiful & Peacefull Church Me & My Family attended. Our Mom (Annette Freeman) died on Sunday, 3/16/1975 I was 10 years old... What I loved the most about Saint Martin De Tours Catholic Church was the very tall ceilings & Beautiful Stain glass windows & I loved, to put money in the basket and also I loved to lite the candles. 💯 % 😇 ✝️ ❣️ 🙏 🤗 💖🔥 And I'm still a fire bug. Lol I should have learned my lesson when I was playing with matches & Moma had already warned me a couple of times. But the match burnt my finger twice. And both times when it burnt my finger, I threw it & next thing I knew. The bed 🛏️ was smoking alot & the fire 🔥 started & the fire started going up the wall.😩 Then I heard Moma cough a couple times I knew, I had to wake her from her nap. Lordy!!! said to myself she told me... OMG She woke up & cursed me & said go outside... & Wait Christine. First she grabbed the old roatery phone with the long cord & robe. Dressed on the porch. Called the fire department & my Uncle C.C. Freeman. I was so scared. They saved the house but I sure did get a good whipping on the porch from Uncle CC, with the fire department and the whole neighborhood on...
Read moreWe went here for Sunday Latin Mass at 12:00. The Mass was beautiful and I was able to focus on the readings in my Missal and the sacrifice taking place on the altar. The interior of the church is beautiful, with the high altar still preserved and a tall ambo where the priest gave his sermon. There is a grotto in the left hand side of the church that holds Our Lady, and there are many beautiful statues of saints throughout the whole church. Behind the altar is a large painting of St. Martin de Tours helping a beggar. The priest delivered a wonderful homily, and Mass was beautiful. I’m so glad that we were able to find a Latin Mass...

We went here to see the Evangeline statue. The front doors of the church were unlocked, so we went in.
There were many old statues of Catholic saints. Of special note were the boxed in pews. Apparently, back in the day, parishioners paid for the pews in advance so they knew they'd have a seat for mass.
