My now husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception here. We appreciated all that Shannon had done for us - she made sure to provide what was needed helped us in any way she could. The food was amazing - compliments to Chef Bobby! Everyone was raving about the food, and we were satisfied with it. The area outside is beautiful, and the reception hall was beautiful as well. It had rained, and they held the ceremony inside and made everything work. I did give it a star less because of some issues we had had. There was a lot of miscommunication and lack of communication. Their outside ceremony only held 100 when we had been told it could hold however many we needed, and we had 150 people. That was one of the biggest reasons we had chosen this place, but thankfully there had been rain and everyone was able to fit inside the reception hall. There was also not clear communication about when we needed to get the payment in. I understand they don't own the park itself, but no one gave us a heads up that there had been a festival going on around the hall itself. People going to the festival had been trying to get in to the hall. Had we been outside for the ceremony, it would have been a disaster. The rooms for the bride and groom were not cleaned, and there were pins on the floor. Even though there were these disappointments, everything else was amazing and beautiful. This is our experience, and I would say if anyone is interested in looking here, that they make sure that there is clear communication from everyone involved before making a decision.

I was the event decorator for an event and everything went perfect. Shannon was an amazing help. Space is clean, staff is great. 10/10

My fiancé and I booked our wedding with Freedom Hill quite some time out from our wedding date. Faye was still there and she was very informative and helpful. We found out a while after we signed that the catering was being changed and that Faye had left. This had us VERY nervous as we signed because we knew the food, loved the venue, and met with Faye. We went to a food tasting they had for people like us that had signed before the change, and met some of the people we would be dealing with. This definitely made us feel A LOT better. We met with Chef Bobby and tasted his amazing food and we also met Annie who we were told would be our point of contact. More time goes by and we were finally about a month out from our wedding day. I was sending an email here and there to tie up and loose ends or to get some last minute information I needed, that's when I found out Annie was no longer with the company. I kind of panicked again because we were so close to our big day and communication went down hill at this point. We would usually get answers to our emails, but sometimes I would have to send it twice. And communication wasn't great when it came down to the very end and we had to figure out seating/food/payment. Also, we scheduled our rehearsal for the Thursday before our Saturday wedding and when we got there, people were setting up for their Friday wedding. I would have no problem with this, but no one greeted us when we walked in and the people setting up looked at us like WE were intruding on them. Finally a guy we had never met (didn't introduce himself either) walked up and said "can I help you...?" like he didn't know we were even coming and proceeded to ask us if we were having a wedding there. That was very off putting, but we got over it and just rehearsed on our own. Even though all of this happened, I'm still only knocking off one star because the day of our wedding, everything went FLAWLESSLY. Jason, who we met the day of, was there helping run the show. When our chair vendor didn't leave the right amount of chairs, he went and picked them up for us! Our night went so smoothly, people are still raving about the food and keep telling us how unique and beautiful the venue was! We understand issues can happen when an establishment goes through transitions, but I felt like that was an important thing to include in the review because some people might not be so understanding. After all the communication issues/changes, our day still ended up perfect and we thank all the staff at Freedom...

We couldn’t be more grateful to Annie, Chef Bobby, and the staff at Freedom Hill Banquet and Event Center for making our wedding so special! We had booked our wedding at Freedom Hill Banquet and Event Center prior to the new management’s takeover, and we could not be more ecstatic with the way our wedding turned out. The venue is beautiful and fit our 180+ guests easily. Annie, the Banquet and Event Center Coordinator, was such a pleasure to work with. She took time out to meet with us on several occasions to make ensure our dream wedding came to reality. One of the things that impressed us most about Annie was how accessible she made herself to us. Not only did she provide us with her cell phone number, but she made herself available to us 24/7 with any questions, concerns, or issues. Annie was extremely patient with us during this process, well-organized, and helped ensure that everything went according to plan. Annie is amazing at what she does! Chef Bobby Nahra held true to his reputation as being one of Metro Detroit’s best chefs. The hors d'oeuvres were a huge hit. Our guests loved them and ate them all up! Our dinner menu included the braised short rib, chicken parmesan, tortellini with alfredo sauce, potatoes, and green beans. Chef Bobby even served us our food, which we thought was pretty special. The food was AMAZING! When we were making our way around to say hello to our guests, they all had nothing but wonderful things to say about the food. Our wedding turned out better than we ever could’ve hoped for, and we owe a huge portion of that to Annie, Chef Bobby, and the amazing staff at Freedom Hill Banquet and Event Center! We would strongly recommend any couples looking for a wedding venue to check out Freedom Hill Banquet and...
